Did anyone else even get the $26 price? Everyone, including me, seems to be showing that their price is $39.59.
Mine says $39.59.Did anyone else even get the $26 price? Everyone, including me, seems to be showing that their price is $39.59.
This is a horrid take. This is just targeted coupons. Should we ban coupons then?
Apparently people that don't buy as many games on PSN see these discounts. I guess don't buy digital games on PSN and see what the deals are in a few months lolI got $40, how do I apply for PSN welfare???
I am shocked that a billion dollar corporation would target me to spend money, I can't quite believe it.
Honestly this feels kind of short sighted, either this is like an A/B test and one of the B's just happened to be someone with a large twitter following, or they are burning goodwill in order to entice an incredibly small number of people purchase a single game. But what the hell do I know, I'm just going to keep buying games if I think they are a fair price, and not buying them if I don't think they are a fair price. Some people on twitter and Reddit are saying it's $26.99 for them. Some are saying they spend a lot of money on the store and have it, others say they rarely buy digital games and have it. I guess it's a more deep algorithm than just that.
Mine is still high and I've been on PSN since day 0.They were doing reverse promotions before (with higher price for long time users).
It seems Sony wants to make peace with me, I have lower price when logged in:

Ohh then I'm fucked because I will often buy games twice, first physical and then digital when it gets super cheaper.Apparently people that don't buy as many games on PSN see these discounts. I guess don't buy digital games on PSN and see what the deals are in a few months lol
I guess Sony figured that if you buy a few games a year, you won't mind paying higher prices. Instead of giving you a discount, you get punished for being loyal to their digital store front. What could possibly go wrong with this strategy.

They probably have me labeled as a pay pig in the system![]()
You'll never see a discount ever again lolOhh then I'm fucked because I will often buy games twice, first physical and then digital when it gets super cheaper.

Waiting for a decent sale, platformers are rarely getting a full price purchase. If you have not already played this game. What are you doing with your life?
Maybe an extra 10% for being a Plus member? On PlayStation.com logged out I see the GT7 anniversary bundle at $39.59, 57% off. In the PlayStation app when logged in I see it for $29.69, 67% off. Is that dynamic pricing? The base version is only $23.09 for me in the app.
Maybe. Either way, $23 for Gran Turismo 7 base version is a great deal. I don't care much for sim racers but I would get $23 if fun out of it.Maybe an extra 10% for being a Plus member?
Same. This is interesting. I am seeing identical prices when logged in and logged out.
Yotei shows no sale for me in either version.however, Ghost of Yotei's digital deluxe edition is on sale for me for $59.99 but i dont see a sale on it when logged out.
whats even more odd is that the standard edition is not on sale for me.
Sounds like it's a good thing the vast majority of my PS5 games are physical and I'm gonna keep buying physical. Let's see them try to do "dynamic pricing" on physical gamesthis is hilarious, Sony has become so brazen in how they fuck over their fan base
It looks like the discount is based largely on how many games you buy and the less game you buy the more likely you are to get a discount
So if you support buying games on PSN you basically get fucked and if you generally ignore Sony and don't buy games, that's when you get the benefit
I don't understand how Poland is still not in the euro zone despite being the hottest financial place right nowThey were doing reverse promotions before (with higher price for long time users).

Meanwhile, you have to deal with far more atrocious price gouging (and fixing) well above MSRP in the PC hardware space.Another reason to ditch consoles. It just keeps piling up.
Wouldn't this destroy price comprising websites?
Like this cheap ass gamer for example.
Another reason to ditch consoles. It just keeps piling up.
Hopefully Sony does get forced to at least offer digital codes at retailers like everyone else. I think they are the only platform holder that doesnt allow it.
Does anyone know the reason why they stopped? apart from greed?
I think physical is safe for now, but this is probably just one other reason companies will want to go fully digital in the future… basically the fact that they have dynamic control over pricingSounds like it's a good thing the vast majority of my PS5 games are physical and I'm gonna keep buying physical. Let's see them try to do "dynamic pricing" on physical games
You find nothing morally bankrupt about that?Provided this is legal in your country, I struggle finding a reason to be mad about this. I'm trying my best, but it all falls flat in the end when I realise we're talking about video games.
When negotiating rates with my clients, I'll sometimes give a €300 rate to a Polish client, and a €500 rate to a UK one, simply because I know one has more money and is used to paying more.
