It happens more than some people would like to admit.

If your game has SP content there no reason why shouldn't allowed you to play it offline.

Even Monster Hunter World/Iceborne which really likes to shove multiplayer content on your face still lets you play it completely offline.

Heck even if playing online and get cut off during the hunt the game doesn't kick you out just warning comes that you currently playing offline.

This is why they haven't bothered to put out many first party games this generation. Can't give away a bunch of free first party games in the event of a PSN outage if you never bothered to make them in the first place.

This is why I'm glad Jim Ryan was shown the door by Sony Japan and Herman Hulsts seemingly about to meet the same fate eventually. Putting most of your first-party studios to making a GaaS title was one of the most idiotic decisions one could ever make.

I'm glad Sony Japan intervened and started to clean house. People may not be happy about the state of affairs Sony is in right now, but at least they're taking action now.

Back then I barely noticed it being down but now it really sucks, I was looking forward to some GT7.

Same, I was expecting to do some co-op MH Wilds this weekend. I can play on my base PS5 but it doesn't have the games I'm playing where as my Pro doesn't have a connection or ability to switch it up. Woe is me lol.

We'll have an update for when services resume. In the meantime, no other platforms are reporting outages so it appears specific to PSN.
