That page has been "under maintenance" for more than a month. :lol
Yeah, I've been waiting for this page to be fixed for a month too (since my PSP tells me to go to that exact URL). Found out a way to do it on the playstation website today though. Good job I did find it, because I would have missed out on those free games :/.

Good thing a lot of people went with inFamous and WipEout HD. Two great games that don't get enough credit.

Sony took it down a little bit early. Their official FAQ says it would last through July 3, and once that date has passed it wouldn't be available anymore. But this morning they took it down. Hope everyone got what they wanted!

They took down the welcome back stuff? Why am I not surprised it was taken down early...good thing I redeemed PS+ on another account yesterday.

So I read that the Welcome Back program was going down July 3rd 12PM PST? Seems like Sony went ahead and took it down earlier as I can't find the section on the PSN.

Damn i wanted to activate PS+. I thought it would be available including today?
-_-"
Yeah, according to their FAQ:

Q: When will I have access to the Welcome Back Program?
A: The content offered as part of the Welcome Back Program is available for download today and will be available through July 3.

Q: How long do I have to get into the PlayStation Store and receive my content for Welcome Back?
A: Access to the Welcome Back content will be expiring on July 3. Once this date has passed, the Welcome Back section in the PlayStation Store will be removed.

Since the date has not passed yet, and the program is available through the 3rd, it should include today. But Sony apparently decided that they could screw their customers out of one day without too much of a backlash.

Waiting until the very last day...you guys live dangerously.

I have exams right now. It would have been worthless if i had redeemed it earlier. Just hoped to get at least two weeks worth of PS+.
It's strange. The banner with free Plus is still there but i can't redeem it anymore :/
Well bad luck.

Every single time no matter the offer, be it Steam or anything else people get annoyed by a few hours.

It was announced that it will be taken down on July 3rd.
Where was that announced? The official FAQ I quoted from says it will be available *through* July 3rd, and be taken down after July 3 has passed. I guess Sony could have been talking about Japan time - it became July 4 a couple hours ago there.

Straight from the official playstation blog:
This offer expires on Sunday, July 3rd, so please make sure to claim what’s yours before then.

This is also what the PSN Store says.

And what you quote is open to interpretation. You interpret it differently than I do. That's why I redeemed my shit earlier.

I don't watch the blog though.

You can't really interpret "Once this date has passed"
I assumed the FAQ was correct.

When someone says something won't happen until a certain time has passed, you interpret as meaning it'll happen before then? Odd...

BTW, I *did* redeem my stuff, I got Super Stardust and Wipeout, and don't care about PS+. I just think it's dumb that Sony is screwing people over, even if it's only over a few hours. If they wanted to take it down today, they should have been very clear about it in their official terms.

Fair enough. That's what the US blog says so it should have been available there for longer.

EU + AUS say that it will be available 30 days. Which one can mean as 30 * 24 hours. Or 30 * 24 hours + whatever rest is there in that timezone.

I just think it's dumb that Sony is screwing people over, even if it's only over a few hours.
I think it's dumb people wait for the last minutes to redeem something they can potentially miss out on by virtue of interpretation. As you showed with Sony working in Japan time for example.

Just read about all the Steam sales every single time they do it. People wait for the last minute, and then Steam pulls it and they bitch. Is it a perfect world? Nope, but you can anticipate things.

They said long ago when the Welcome Back Program would end. Do you need a fridge magnet as a reminder?

Q: How long do I have to get into the PlayStation Store and receive my content for Welcome Back?

It was also mentioned in some places that it would expire on July 3rd to, so there was more than 1 interpretation on the end date. This is why I redeemed PS+ on another account yesterday rather than today.

However, "the Welcome Back content will be expiring on July 3." Could be understood both ways. Problems with communication can happen sometimes, unfortunately :\

EDIT: I see that Wario64 already pointed this out.

Just goes to show that Sony is something something incompetent
Actually in that update it says "on July 3rd" and nothing else, meaning that it would happen sometime today. This is also the latest update on the matter it seem. Cant really blame anyone if they missed this update though. And argueable it doesnt say any exact time when it would be taken down today.

Either way, it's over now. Got a problem? Call Sony.
True, and luckily it is only 1 month of PS+ though, so it is not something really big. I assume that most people have downloaded the free games at least, no reason to wait with downloading those.

It is a bit pity that it wasnt 100% clear on when it ended though :/

Fuuuuuuuu I am out of the country and couldn't find any one to download. Just asked a friend last night to download on Sunday as I assumed it was the last day!!! When it says through July 3rd it should have been available through today.Oh well :/

Yes, that could be taken both ways, so then they clarified it later by saying it would be taken down after July 3 had passed and saying it would be available through the 3rd.[/quote]

That update says to get the full details from another link, which is where the FAQ is.

I have a question. I don't own a PSP but I went ahead and downloaded Killzone: Liberation and Little Big Planet PSP last night. Now, do I go ahead and install them on my PS3? Or do I leave them there and install them on a PSP? I'm not too sure what to do...

Really though it's been a month. You've had ample time to take advantage of the offers.

The FAQ is old, but the "expires on Sunday, July 3rd" message is in the latest update on the matter. But yeah, since they didnt update the FAQ and linked to it in the latest update, it can cause misinterpretation there again.

By the way, there was actually no real advantage to wait until the last day with getting the PS+, since PS+ is updated on Thuesdays or Wedensday if i'm not mistaken. Getting the PS+ on i.e Friday or yesterday would still have given the same gain or loss regarding PS+ updates. Maybe a bit pointless to mention this now that the PS+ redeeming is over though and i dont mean to "rub it in" in any way, but i just wanted to mention it in case of future cases where PS+ will be free for a period of time =)

EDIT: I see now that 3rd August is actually on a Wedensday. So if a PS+ update comes out that date, it could be wise to wait until the last day to redeem the 1 month free PS+ afterall :)

The games are added to your download list, so there is no need to keep them stored on your PS3. When you get a PSP, then you can just redownload the games and transfer them to your PSP.

lol. I didn't. I just assumed I'd have time or that the expiry date would be clear. Annoying, but not a big deal.

I know that situation myself, to delay something because there would be time to do it later instead :) But yeah, pity that there wasnt any 100% confirmation if it ended on 3rd July or when 3rd July was over. Maybe Sony will open it again for 24 hours if many complain about it, but i dont know.

EDIT: Come to think about it, i think i only downloaded 1 game myself (WipeOut Fury). I cant remember that i downloaded the 2nd game at least. I already have all the other games though, either as downloadable or on disc.

Yeah maybe I was lazy, but I only downloaded one of my free games. Wasn't sure what else I wanted and hadn't used my PS3 in a while. I'm pissed. Actually on hold with Sony support right now, so we'll see what they say. Their website clearly has a blog that says

"Q: When will I have access to the Welcome Back Program?
A: The content offered as part of the Welcome Back Program is available for download today and will be available through July 3."

and

"Q: How long do I have to get into the PlayStation Store and receive my content for Welcome Back?

Who ends a sale for something that obviously can't "sell out" in the middle of a day on Sunday.

Japan. No one should be whining about this. You had plenty of time.

Sorry, only just saw your reply now. I went via the official website http://uk.playstation.com/ then clicked 'sign in'. When trying to sign in, it told me it sent me an email. Follow the email to change your password.

Edit: Oh, apparently it's over? I must have been close to the deadline in downloading my games then :S

No go. Spoke to a supervisor. He said that it was 30 days from when it started at midnight on 6/2. When I said that the website should've said 30 days instead of through July 3, he just starting asking me why I didn't download the other game sooner. When I asked if he could credit my PSN account with money or a game manually, he said they have no way of doing that which I find very hard to believe.

This really makes me angry on principle, never mind $20 or whatever I lost by not being able to get LBP which I was planning on doing.

I would think that Sony would be trying to go out of their way to rebuild goodwill with their customers. Guess not. It will be a long time before I buy anything on PSN again.

Why would you expect them to give you free money?
