PSP 2.00 to 1.50 downgrader released (Confirmed working)

Just posted this in the PSP 1.50 sticky, but for those who don't read that thread....

Oh My...

It's out boys & girls,

Working downgrader for 2.00 :D

(Cleverly uses the 2.00 buffer exploit to overwrite the flash with 1.50 firmware).
 
Has anyone tested the upgrade back to 2.0? Because if so, yippity yip, I'm going to upgrade and use the functionality of both depending on the day.
 
Sweet, but it looks like I gots to upgrade to 2.0 first....anyone know which games I need in order to do that? Thanks

EDIT: Nevamind. Doing it on the site.
 
Personally, I'm not going to rush to downgrade, I like the functionality of 2.00 (AVC) and believe this is only the first step to true 2.00 homebrew anyway, but I guess it's perfect for the impatient.

If theres no news on 2.00 homebrew in a few weeks I'll downgrade then.
 
The brain explodes on the thought of all the demo scene development that this makes possible now that the Europe gets their hands on 1.50!

Well thats good news for us 2.0's. However Im going to wait till I can play homebrew on 2.0, Ive got Madden now so Im not too bored.

well i jsut tried to run ******* from an iso and it worked and then i ran a homebrew test app and it worked so id have to say yes

on a completely unrelated note frantix is a great game!
 
This is great news. I don't need it yet though, my launch PSP is still 1.5 and I don't plan on upgrading for as long as I can.

i think this development pretty much kills alot of the '2.00 homebrew' movement... who is gonna work on 2.0 homebrew when people can just downgrade and upgrade at will?

Please try a more complex homebrew application as I want to make sure even those are fine under the downgraded 1.5 firmware.

Im a psp homebrew noob.. point me to one and how to run it and ill try for you.

And dont say psp spot or pspupdates they are hammered to holy hell :)
 
ok so, would i be able to try an emulator out with some roms with just the 32mb stick? what can fit? , Id like to wait out for the 2 gig sticks :)

any emu will work... i mean even neocd has some games that will fit on 32MB
 
well, as a longtime 1.5 user i have to show some of you love...

since i have all the tools (1.5 Firmware, Downgrader, Tif Exploit), i'll upload to rapidshare in 1 neat rar :)
 
anyone know if it's safe to upgrade to 2.00 if you're using customized backgrounds in 1.5? or do i have to revert back to the old backgrounds?

IIRC, several people upgraded fine with the custom bg's... they were overwritten during the upgrade...

someone clue me in on AVC. will I get a noticable increase in video quality?

If so, I'd consider a 2.0 upgrade if and when the homebrew moves over. That seems a better base platform (web browser, AVC, more games)

The switch is fairly fast though, isn't it? Be not that hard to go back and forth depending on the needs of the day.
 
Can someone fill me in on the pros and cons of the different firmware?

I have a launch United States PSP but I am not sure which firmware it has but I have never upgraded.....it seems to me GAFers do not like the 2.0 firmware that is mandatory on some games....why?

2.0 cant run emulators
