They really need to stop trying to put FPS games on PSP. Shit, they're difficult enough to get right on consoles.

man i really want this on the PSP if It offers the same game as all the others --- a portable version would be so quality.... but the controls : [

I'll have to get used to using my left hand for look, and the face buttons for strafe --- I can do it, if i practice :D

Seeing this, I bet they could put Shadow of Colossus on that little portable.

Judging by your post, I'd say you look good for trolling graphics.
I didn't mean to say what I said in a negative way.

Five years ago, to think we'd be seeing visuals like that on a handheld, would've been f*cking insane.

I love my PSP by the way. I'm just bitter about my one stuck pixel.

I can't believe that they're actually trying to convert the console design to the DS. That can't go well, even though the 3D engine looks decent.

Hmm... lets see...

1.) You own a PSP
2.) You flame King Kong's Graphics on the PSP
3.) You posted on GaF
4.) You're pissed about one pixel?

:lol

Whenever I see such PS1 quality shots of DS games I immediately associate the 10fps framerate that such PS1 games used to run at with it. At least this has the potential to run at a constant 60fps... oh well that doesn't make it any less ugly. I guess the last redeeming quality *could* be the controls. But why bother, just get the PC version.

The FPS segment in King Kong PSP won't be bad cause you can't run while shooting in this game I think. On the pc version you press space to bring up the gun and I think you can't move while doing so.

You can't easily play the PC version portable.

they could have done something different with the portable versions

Then people would whine that its "watered down" like the haters said about AC!D.

Port = "Port Machine!!!!"
Different version = "Watered Down!!!!"

oh, so true

AND CHANGE THAT DAMN AVATAR

What will the PSP be able to produce once devs can use the full 333 Mhz and full graphics engine?

Actually you can't run while you're aiming with the guns and it's like that on the console versions as well.
Anyway it does not change a thing to run on not in the game seriously...
Oh and of course you can move while aiming the guns.

I think WipEout Pure has bloom lighting, but i dont know what bloom lighting is so... :)

in majority of games it means the kind of light you get after a nuclear explosion. that bright and vivid white light that blinds you.

Wrong.

And wow, very nice gfx! Is it the first time I see bloom lighting in a PSP game?
As was noted, Wipeout Pure has some really impressive bloom lighting. It's very lovely.

That's still one of the best looking games on the system.

i tend to think, at 333, its the best looking game on it. better than rr imho

There's really no such thing as 'bloom lighting'.
Bloom is the light halos/light bleeding you see around very bright things (light sources & reflected lights).
In CG implementation it's typically a postprocessing effect (you take final picture, blur the very bright parts and add them back into the original picture), and it requires some highdynamic range color information to work.

It's also probably the most obvious HDR effect, which is why it's popular to exagerate it these days.
