So, is anyone interested/using these devices.. ?!

Agreed. Everytime I see these things, I think why not just get a PS2.
Not me. The only time I play my GBA on the small screen is when I'm not at home. When I'm at home, I use the GB Player for a nice, big TV image and sound through my home stereo. If anything, I'd think the PSP demands TV output even more than the Nintendo handhelds, due to the nice graphics.

The bottom two devices above look kinda strange. They look like webcams, which I'm guessing yields a pretty horrible image.

What would help here is actual screengrabs of what these devices output.

The way it hooks up and PSP resolution anyways it's not going to look hot on a big screen. The GBA player doesn't either. I enjoy handhelds on the go but I also just like relaxing on my couch playing PSP or DS with G4 or a movie playing on my TV.

That would be cool for certain games. But why the hell does it need to straddle the PSP like a goddamned face-hugger?

Because those systems are webcams... The image on the TV will probably be awful (low resolution of the screen combined to a average camera...)

Yeah, I'm not expecting much. I may end up getting both kinds. One of the reasons I want a TV adapter is to get rid of the PSP's horrible draw lag/trails, which would not be eliminated with a camera, so I'd have to go for the other. But I may still spring for one of these camera deals because I want to try it on the DS. I don't want to play the DS on TV (wouldn't work, of course), I just want a somewhat reasonable way to capture DS screens/video for my site.

I don't see much point either, unless you happen to have the need to capture PSP video and screenshots. Sony is tightwad with their dev units, so a lot of sites (IGN, GameSpot, etc) were thrilled to get PSP2TVs when they came out.

I'll have to pick one up at some point for that reason too, but I've been a bit lazy.... want them to work out some of the kinks first (loose ribbon cables, sometimes distorted video).

I hear ya... different strokes for different folks, I guess. Unless it's something like Tetris, I can't play games with some other major source of distraction going on in the background.

The GB Player isn't as sharp as the development Wide Boys, but given the choice between 2-5" screen and normal/big-sized screen, I'll go with the latter. YMMV, obviously. It does away with LCD blur, eye strain, neck stiffness, etc., too. :)

For those saying "just get a PS2", not all the good PSP games are on the PS2. I don't know why that's so hard to understand. If everyone thought this way, there would be no demand or reason for companies like Nintendo to release devices like the Super Game Boy or Game Boy Player.

The GB Player made games like Castlevania: COTM playable for a lot of people who only had the first GBA, and for those who may have bad eyesight who have a PSP or GB, being able to play them on a big TV is a godsend.

IIRC, the PSP 2 TV device got a pretty lukewarm review on Portable Gaming Revolution's PSP podcast. Basically he had difficulty installing the kit and it really f's up the image quality of the games.

Sounds like the clip on PSP convertor would be a better investment, but you lose the ability to play with a Dual Shock. :\

did you even read the thread??? its to play psp on your tv

Lol, soz, we discussed the PSP2TV product so long ago that I just assumed the thread was about something new... :lol

If it was cheap and didnt require a degree in micro-electronics to install I'd consider it, even if just for hotel rooms. As it is the PSP screen is shit-hot, just stick your nose right up to it and it feels like you're at the cinema. :P
