PSPs at Play-Asia.com HURRY

I want one, but I want $400 more than I want a PSP. I think I'll wait for the shortage and the gouging to stop before before I order it, JP or US.

I dunno if crazed mothers shopping for their kids roam this forum (if you do... and you are divorced... PM me)... but here's your chance!

Funny thing: I actually have it in my shopping cart right now. And then I said to myself, aloud, "AJ, what the fuck are you doing?"

...the page is still up though.

Nicely done... should you be seeing yours this week, then?

Hell no, I'm not paying that much for it, I just didn't cancel it so I can continue monitoring the situation.

But I might be getting one soon for $287, and the games at cost.

How and where? PM me if need be :)

Has lack of regional lockout been confirmed? Either way, with the spottiness of launch units from ANY territory, i couldn't see spending twice the price for something that'll be available in the US in few months.

I'm tempted, but fuck it.

For the price of importing the value pack I can buy an American unit with two 1 gig memory sticks and 2 games.

I'll wait.

Those prices are ridiculous.

On the other hand, you might find that, unless you're gonna camp or preorder way early (like right now), the US launch is going to be just as crazy, too.

Me: "What would happen if I spent 500+ bucks on a PSP? Would that make me an asshole?"
Friend: "A little bit.... a little bit"

Well, hopefully by March Sony will have sorted out their production issues.

Yup. Insane to buy from overseas on high import tarrifs. Just wait and get a unit with first production run bugs ironed out.

BS, I've never had a problem getting any console on day one...that may be due to the fact where I live too, but it shouldn't be that hard.

Yesasia didn't seem to get many in, judging by the disappointment a few other people had on here, but they still stuck to their $307 price for the value pack when they shipped mine out on Wednesday. So got to respect them for that.

I don't see why Play-Asia and Lik-Sang couldn't have done the same.

Yup living in or near a medium or big-size city basically means no problems getting consoles on day 1, even if it does require some phone calls around.

It's a damn shame about all these price jacks...

I'd love to get ahold of one...but not for those kind of prices. :(

Ah well, what should I have expected?

:lol I'm not surprised, any who really bothers paying such a crazy a price is a little too impatient in my eyes. March is really hardly that far away and there's plenty of stuff out there to ease the wait. It's just a matter of having some self-control.

you have to be a moron to pay that much, especially when the us launch isn't even that far away. I could see paying $300 tops.

The price gouging should end in January at the latest guys; it isn't going to stay this way. The DC and PS2 had the same type of price gouging.

NCS is supposed to find out tomorrow how much the second shipment is going to cost them; here's hoping for a lower price.

Absolutely ridiculous. I know both PA and Lik-Sang aren't going to come out of this favorably. They'll definitely loose my custom and there are many others that feel the way I do. People that have used these guys for thousands of pounds worth of games in the past just got completetly shafted. I know quite a number of guys that pre-ordered within minutes of it going up on PA, only for PA to turn around and try to fleece their loyal customers. Madness. Short term gain, long term loss.

Just a question of hanging on for the March release now. :(

The most I have ever paid for a game console is $200...Dreamcast, at US launch.

I will most certainly not pay upwards of $600 for a system that I would not even be able to return if defective. Utter bollocks. And I'm not even British!

I'm gonna wait until the US launch, that way I can pre-order from Gamestop or EB by trading in a few old games that I don't feel like playing anymore.

respect for play asia falling, falling, gone. if it was the case that suppliers were gouging them and they had to sell high, i could understand. but apparently psp prices have plummeted in hong kong, they've come up with a price increase over the already outrageous launch price, and it conveniently won't fall before christmas. i've ordered tons of games from them over the past year or so, but i'm going to rethink that.

Yeah. I think I'm going to switch to yesasia.com for a while, see how they go. Firstly they guarantee no VAT/duty to the UK, their standard prices are about the same as play-asia, they have more 'stuff', eg DVDs and they dropped the PSP price pretty quickly.

Yeah. I've never paid import tax on any of the scores of games I've bought from them, they've always been cheap (sometimes ludicrously so), efficient, and friendly, but because they're charging inflated prices on PSPs I'm never going to use them again. OH SHITTING CRIKEY, WHERE'S MY NOSE GONE?
