This is basically my only question, other than will AliExpress have knockoff 30th anniversary plates for the Pro like they do for the Slim.

I hope it's true because basically I will buy Pro just to play some enhanced PSVR2 titles, especially No Man's Fire and No Man's Sky. So I REALLY need it to be true.

Is there anybody here who was able to test this combo? If yes, does PSVR2 benefits from the Pro?

Thanks
Unless there's some minimum automatic improvement due to things like PSSR, I don't think that there would already be PSVR2 games patched for Pro. PSVR2 is already a niche, and PSVR2 Pro owners are a niche of a niche. I'm not sure that investments will be done for that niche of niche, especially considering the present management.
If Hello Games news will come out true (please be real), then it will more likely due to their healthy pride and strive to create the best possible experience for players. Hardly a thing that will be felt from many developers out there.

See link just above your post. Games are being enhanced, and the Pro is seeming like it is making huge improvements so far. Can't wait to see GT7

That's great but for now there is no confirmed GT7 PSVR2 Pro patch, or on any Sony owned PSVR2 game. At the moment, it's more like I'm inclined to think: great developers who independently decide by themselves to make a PSVR2 Pro version.
I hope everyone will start from now on.

Interested to see how No Man's Sky performs on the Pro.
Some planets really ran like crap in VR.

First impressions of various PSVR2 games:
- every game (that didnt have a patch) I tried appeared to be a tad sharper compared to base PS5
- RE4 keeps crashing for me when I start it in VR mode (Village works tho)

Maybe the resolution thing is not due to a patch, but automatic dynamic resolution at work (not PSSR). About RE4R, may be a bug coincidence, or a wider problem that will be patched once Capcom will know of the problem.

It's concerning knowing it's breaking compatibility out of the box. I'm not concerned with RE4 so much as I know Capcom will patch it, but I worry more for smaller/older games that might never see a patch.

Have you had any games crash outside of PSVR2 that worked otherwise on base PS5?

I’ve just tried NMS and Kayak VR.

Firstly, NMS in potato mode looks spectacular on the Pro. It’s one of the most impressive updates to be fair.

I tried Kayak VR first on PSVR2 and it looks great. I haven’t played it for a while, but I’m certain that everything is looking a bit sharper, especially when in the foveated rendering window. It doesn’t look as blurry in the distance now. Nice. I hope more PSVR2 titles get some pro love.

As for NMS in VR, it isn’t up to the quality of potato mode (not a surprise really), but it is getting closer. Distant objects can still look a little shimmery, but generally the visuals are much sharper. The grass and terrain textures look better, and that weird morph effect on the terrain isn’t pronounced like it was before. And most importantly, it’s as smooth as a buttery bottom. I didn’t notice any issues from a performance perspective in the 10-15 minutes I was playing. To be fair I spent most of that time ogling at a gorgeous sunset on a paradise planet.

If they actually support the PSVR2 with PS5 Pro like PS4 Pro/PSVR1, I'll get one. I thought PS4 Pro was pretty underrated for PSVR1.

It's a much bigger upgrade for PSVR 2/PS5 Pro than PSVR 1/PS4 Pro.

I've only tried 2 VR games so far (NMS VR and Kayak VR), but both are substantially better.

No Man's Sky almost looks twice as good on PSVR 2 with PS5 Pro.

It's definitely comparable to the native PS5 version, but in VR.

It's super impressive.
