There are plenty of reasons to dislike the guy if you're so inclined. He calls himself nationalist, pro-patriarchy, he's cashing in on attention from the alt right and whatnot else.
But a sarcastic (you may consider the point he was trying to make idiotic, of course, and there are plenty of reasons to, but how about actually reading it?) article about how to PREVENT rape somehow got turned into a worldwide media outrage about some kind of secret cabal of pro-rape activists trying to meet up to discuss how to rape women. It sounds ridiculous, because it IS.
I agree with him that only a basic level of reading comprehension was necessary to understand that he wasn't literally supporting the legalization of rape. I was baffled in the last days by how many people regurgiated this false information without even a modicum of journalistic integrity (or ANY integrity, looking at this thread and elsewhere).
It's barely any different from shit like making up fake refugee stories that spread like wildfire in european right wing circles. Agenda-driven lies that are circulated quickly and without fact-checking to incite hatred against someone that is "safe to hate".
I'm not telling anyone here to like the guy - there's no reason to - but keep your witch hunt tendencies in check in times of unstoppable, misinformed internet hate mobs.
