Quake 4 360 question

the framerate isn't bad to me either.

though it isn't absolutely great, it's fine when playing the game.

The problem with the framerate is that it's consistently around 20 fps. It never drops low enough to affect gameplay in a significant way, but it's basically not smooth enough most of the times. It's a pretty good game, however.

Around 20 fps, huh? No offense, but I'm going to call BS on that one.

Achievements FTW.

Check them.

I completed the game on normal (Corporal) difficulty.

Yup, it's definitely below 30 fps almost all the time. Not enough to be unplayable, but still annoying and definitely not a showcase of the engine.
To think Doom 3 on Xbox ran better than this (yes I know they cut a lot of stuff from the PC version, but still)...

Huh? I'm not saying you haven't played it, I'm just not buying your estimate of the framerate. It didn't seem so consistently bad when I played it, though there were plenty of drops.

Well, I played it long enough, and have a lot of experience playing PC games to be able to give a reasonable estimate.

I say 20 fps because it's never smooth enough to be 30 fps (which doesn't bother me at all, see Halo, and other 30 fps shooters) but it's never low enough to become unplayable.
