Quake 4 details and screenshot

Bring me up to speed - is this a multiplayer fragfest like Quake3? If so, sign me up. I still love Quake3.

Oh, and I'd get the PC version. I'll be getting a X360 at launch and I know this is supposedly a launch title - and it'll probably look better than on my PC - but for me I'm much more comfortable with a keyboard and mouse. I really need to play more Halo2 to get used to dual analog better, though...I won't have the luxury of picking up certain other games on PC (like PD0) :(

You know I still play Q3 almost weekly. Nothing comes close to the "feeling" of railing someone from a mile on The Longest Yard.

Best MP map ever.

id Software and this whole new darkness shit. i hate it. brighten the fucking game up already. your atmoshpere is shit and making it dark to try to make it "scary" is not working. that would require at least some good mood and atmoshpere already and this doesn't have it.

i'm tired of these dark ass games trying to set mood or create a gameplay dynamic (ie: splinter cell, doom 3, etc.) which dont. all they do is hide the pretty graphics, make me strain, and make me jack my brightness all the way up just so i can fucking see. yes i know Splinter Cell has nightvision, but that makes the graphics all green and shit looking.

Then play Halo or Half Life. I personally like how Doom 3 is dark. My only complaint is the whole flashlight situation (ie if you are going to make a game dark dont make some shit gameplay "innovation" where you cant attach a flashlight to a gun).

And your Splinter Cell argument is so off base I don't know where to begin. Splinter Cell's whole concept is hiding in shadows, sneaking around without being seen, being a spy... I mean I guess we could be unrealisitic for your sake and send spys into a terrorist base in the middle of the day so it'll be all light and cheery for ya. :\

Xbox 360 might offer support for USB devices such as mouse or a keyboard; in-game support should depend on a developer. :)

True, but that'd add to the cost of my copy of Quake 4. And I'm not very well set up at home to use a kb/mouse with my consoles..

Anyway, after a little reading about this, it seems it's more single player orientated, which is a little disappointing for me, but I'll keep an eye on it. The promise of playing alongside "an army" is attractive, though...I'd like to see some screens with said army, though ;)
