Quantum Break Gamersyde preview. HQ gameplay inside.

Well the Gamespot guys still say. "Its looks good" etc
Also read the 720p article. But doesnt feel/look like it is a 720p game,

Linneman (DF) recent tweets really excites me:

John Linneman ‏@dark1x Blown away but what I've played of QB thus far. Amazing work.

John Linneman ‏@dark1x I think it's blown way out of proportion. It's one of the best looking, technically accomplished games on XO.

John Linneman ‏@dark1x It's rather frustrating. I don't think people fully understand the resolution issue (it's not "just" 720p - it's more complex)

John Linneman ‏@dark1x Nope, it's something different entirely. I've never seen anything quite like it. It works pretty well, actually.

cool

saw this on one of the stream

We'll be doing a live stream later tonight (10:15 PM CET, in about 2 hours and 30 minutes), if you guys want to see act 1 of the game live while listening to my terrible French accent :)

Okay, last thing I watched on the stream, and at all.
One decision straight up killed a character, which else you get to play as for quite some time in the game.
Multiple playthroughs here I come. There wille be some interesting discussions, and a huge spoiler thread.

Yeah that was really cool. He was also very suprised the streamer haha.

I'm tired of all these livestream, please just give me this game already, or at least send me the Alan Wake code so i'll play it again for the third time on Xbox One

Damn this game looks good, the lighting especially. And this game has style, very compelling look.

Of course, i mean it doesn't come out from nowhere, it's Remedy we are talking about, it's gonna be awesome like everything they've done so far, whether or not haters want it

Okay, I lied. This is gonna be the last GIF, since it finally got uploaded:

No, please, keep them coming. Incredible gifs. The combat seems so varied and fast paced.

Do we already know about difficulty options? I'm usually not into playing at higher difficulties, but this game is really deserving multiple playthroughs (from what I've seen).

Just watched a little bit of the video's...if this is truly 720p, it is the best 720p I have ever seen. Game looks fantastic.

I was only comparing the IQ between the two, Infamous is an early PS4 game, open world that run over 40FPS most of the time, with a little more work, they could have probably locked it to 30, Infamous isn't the best PS4 looking game but I choose it cause i love how clean it looks compared to the blurry looks of QB, performance wise, isn't Quantum Break having screen tearing, framerate drops with low resolution ? I'm not sure we can call it running better...
If you factor in resolution then clearly Infamous is pushing more but I'm talking about user perception. Quantum Break can tear frames in select circumstances but it is rather uncommon during the game, I've found. In general, you get perfectly paced 33ms frame-times. No skips or stutters, just fluid performance.

I'd say The Order runs better while Second Son is perceptibly less smooth, if we're drawing comparisons.

You mean awesome accent? Come on, now.

Can you guys unload more gifs of cool shit in this game?

The game may not be what people were expecting on the technical side, but I know is that it looks sick.

Any chance you guys will dig into the ridiculous amount of...I'm not even sure what to call them..."special effects", rippling, time stuff....sheer effort put into what I'm seeing in some of these scenes? It looks ridiculous and crazy in an impressive way.

In working on a large analysis now. Yes, they do some insane stuff with time manipulation. I cannot imagine how much work it must have taken. That scene at the end of the Gamescom demo? Yeah, they do that stuff fairly often in very different ways. It's very impressive.

Maybe this has been answered or the question's a bit out of the blue but has it been discussed if this game is going to be unskippable-cutscene-central like Max Payne 3?

It looks really cool and fun actually but don't want to get my hopes up if it's as obnoxious about its story as Max Payne 3.

Looks so incredibly good -- I was going to get this game anyway, but now I'm really excited.

Also goes to show you how lame compressed video is at relaying image quality.

Hopefully that steers abit the focus off 720p. Its gonna be a shame if the game is technical very good and impressive in many ways. But we are still gonna hear all the time. "But its 720p in 2016 haha" stuff.

Hype!

That will come from the people who aren't going to play the game anyway.

Any idea on these "artifacts"? Intended effect or graphical issue?

I noticed that issue at 2-3 occasions. This is at 4:15-4:25 mark (Gamersyde video) when they rotate the camera around the character.

Sweet, looking forward to it.

I'm not so sure. I find that the lower res and softer IQ is quite apparent in the Gamersyde videos. The previous compressed videos I've seen actually hide how much of a negative impact the poor IQ has on the game's visuals.

Anyways, due to popular demand in support of helping to kill Canadian bandwidth, some more GIFs:

Graphical issue, likely to do with the AA solution I believe (not sure). It's apparent throughout both videos.

Image quality is very different from a typical 720p title - it's not that cut and dried. It's significantly cleaner than various 792p Xbox One titles, for instance. Aggressive temporal AA + some sort of reconstruction.

A lot of sacrifices were made here, though, that much can't be ignored BUT the real-time GI, crazy postfx, the cut-scene quality, and all of the time warping stuff create a very impressive overall presentation.
