Quantum Break PC has no "Quit" option on Menu. Gotta Alt-F4.

honestly people defending the lack of a quit button baffles me. It's like the sales person telling me I gotta exit my new car through the sunroof.

But it's beautiful and solo graceful, you're like reaching for the sun. Oh and it's soooo innovative...

What a shitshow, good job Microsoft on the usual fuck up.

Hey does the Windows store let me install games to somewhere other than my C drive

Go to Settings, then System, then Storage. You can change the default save location there. You can also move app installs, don't remember how, but I did it yesterday with Tomb Raider.

My God the GAF hysteria is ridiculous sometimes. One guy post negative impressions about performance and people flock to discount the game. Why not wait and see what maybe more people say about the performance instead?

And the one guy apparently has an AMD 8320 which I'm surprised hasn't caused more problems for him.

Oh wow, this is pretty cool. Probably no streaming though right?

I can't test myself on the count of not owning any WinStore games, but IHS supports non-Steam games, so I'd imagine UWAs would work, too, especially since you can actually use IHS to stream your desktop by streaming a random program (say, Paint) and then minimising it. There's no guarantee that all non-Steam stuff will play nicely with IHS, though.

I'm getting it for free and I still won't play it. Windows 10 exclusive games are instant-skips for me, so it looks like I'll be playing QB in stunning 720p.

It is comforting to know that the biggest complaint about Quantum Break on Windows 10 so far is lack of "Quit" option in the menus.

The biggest complaint about QB is being an UWA that's it. To me an UWA game is as much a PC game as is Super Mario Galaxy running on Dolphin. (that last one being more open and moddable)

I don't know about streaming, but the only way I could get Shadowplay to record Killer Instinct gameplay properly is to play the game windowed/maximized and "allow desktop recording" in the Nvidia Experience thingy program.

I haven't tried other programs like OBS or... Fraps records too right? Whatever, I haven't tried anything else.

Nothing we can do about that right now. My only concern is how well it performs, because I want to play it.

Yea, pretty much. Overlays aren't supported currently. It's still nice that we can at least record. You can also use Shadowplay or OBS for Streaming UMA games. It works perfectly fine in my experience.

UMA games on Steam work perfectly fine..although it is a bit more involved than just clicking an exe and adding it. Here's a quick vid I made just showing off launching one from Steam.

With all the UWA stuff going on this certainly isn't helping their case.

The game barely runs on a 980 ti? Yea give me a break.

Guy is using a AMD CPU so... Other user has a twitch stream live with no performance issues. Guess who to trust?

Although no quit button? Seriouly Remedy?

Yes, i prefer to play the game on Xbox One 720p... because no quit button..for God..

If that meant UWP would die I'm 100% behind that. Asking something from Microsoft is like using a monkey's paw.

I'm totally fine with this.

We got by just fine without them during the last console generation.

Wow, joke was worse than even I thought I guess. I thought my schrodinger's quit button one was alright though. Could be the booze talking.

It's clearly his fault for having an AMD CPU. I mean... Who does that?

Maybe the quit option is Intel exclusive?

Is there a performance thread for PC version?

Not yet. There'll be one after the game has released... or if icecold decides he can't wait any longer. ;)

no benches that ive seen yet but i will add them as they become available

AMD fiji chips appear to have serious issue with performance and visual corruption. AMD says a driver fix is incoming.

First report via PCGH below. Unfortunately origin prevented them from testing more than 1 gpu.

PCGH

gamegpu results are up

(The Gears UE thread did indeed begin with practically no actual info whatsoever.)

Sub 30 on a 980? Someone's confirmed this?

I am getting it down the line so hopefully that won't be an issue say 2 months from now...

C´mon son, can´t get a quit option in there? And no, hovering at the top of the screen to click x doesn´t count. That´s the whole app thing that no one even wants in the first place. Doesn´t matter if it works just fine, it´s a User Interface standard that everyone uses, just because MS thinks apps are the thing to do on PCs (they´re not, fuck off with apps on desktop PCs period, nor argument to be had) doesn´t mean we have to like it.

They´ll probably patch it soon (hopefully), so not a big deal, but with the rest of the UWA shit, it doesn´t look good.

I'm not complaining about the lack of the quit button, I am doing that because its fucking hilarious. If they can overlook the quit button, they probably overlooked other stuff porting the game over. I'm not sure why I'm explaining this but I feel like there's a need for it in this thread. So please for the love of god stop talking about the red X at the top right corner, we get it.

I continue to be baffled at how MS has fucked up literally every single UWP game release thus far. How is it that there are people who are genuinely supportive of this UWP platform? It is clearly flawed to the point that they cant release a single game on it without some sort of ridiculous issue. Why on earth would anyone want more of that?

With the state of AMD CPUs the option to run the game at all should be Intel exclusive.

Ayyyyy.

But seriously, everyone knows AMD CPU's aren't the best, but sub 30fps? Somethings not right there.

Pressing Alt + F4 is easier than dragging the mouse cursor and clicking the Quit button on the main menu.

My goodness, why didn't we all think of this before. This is innovation. A new standard is upon us.

I've been living under a rock for the past months it seems, what is this UWP? I assume it's Universal Windows Platform but how is it related to Quantum Break?

I just press and hold the power button of my PC to turn it off and then restart it. No background processes that continue to run in the background. Clean.

Quantum Break on PC can only be gotten through the Windows Store, which is UWP-only. UWP apps at the moment have a bunch of issues related to no modding, no exclusive fullscreen, and some other stuff.

Right because all the other UWP releases so far have done so much to inspire confidence. CLearly its the people who are skeptical after reports of yet another UWP game running like shit that are "hysterical" and "ridiculous" and not the people acting is there is no reason to suspect there might be cause for concern. Yea that makes sense.

Of all the things to defend y'all pick fucking UWP? Really? Come on now.

Compared to all of the problems that Gears had, I'd say a missing quit option is a relatively minor cosmetic problem. It's hardly a game-breaking issue and I seriously doubt it's going to ruin anyone's overall experience.
