Fucking awesome.

search yielded nothing for quizno or anything related

I heard about this. They should call corporate and have the ownership switched to them, then charge half price for food or something

Holy shit, we can do that?!

Christ, we've got a shitty owner here, but we've never actually thought about broadcasting it to everybody.

Also-Holy fuck, those bastards get 7.60 an hour.

I get 5.50.

Heh, I give those people a lot of credit...I'd be gone on the first day.

agreed. i have no loyalty to corporations. if it was a mom-and-pop shop it would be a different story, but we're taking about a massive chain that should know better.

It's not a chain, it's a franchise. The stores are individually owned.

I'm not sure how much credit I'd give them, sticking around a near-minimum wage shit-job even when the paychecks stop and wages fluctuate from day-to-day. I suppose the manager might have good reason to keep it running, but as for the others....is the job market really so tough that you can't find another crappy sub place to work at?

I've had two separate Quiznos with in a half mile of where I live open and close within the last year and a half. It sucks, one of them was only a block away!

Who the hell would buy Quiznos subs made out of crappy luncheon meat? Also, Vanilla coke sucks.

You may have missed the moral of the story.

Yeah, just like Subway. They really don't have much other choice but to stick around. I doubt they want to try to survive without the company name. But it's sorta cool that the employees stuck with it, when things might get a little rough. This is life...

That was my first thought. Disgusting. I wouldn't buy that shit.

Better meat out of a B-grade grocery store than ordering from the "dropped on the floor" stock from the corporate slaughterhouse

I'd rather have the latter. They toast it. Kills the dirt and germs. :lol

You know, this sounds like a good TV movie.

Who wants to co-write the script with me?

What's the owner's motive for leaving? Did he die? Are you picturing a modern version of Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter Died?

He's clearly doing the manager on the slicer table in the back room.

Also, what exactly do you think quizno's subs are made of if not lunch meat?

Wow. That was creepy; I can't put my finger on why, but working in a shop with no owner, no reporting to corporate HQ where he bought the rights to the name from, only the least favorite beverages and side orders, and not getting paid? Too surreal for me; no thanks.

Fuck that, why would I keep working there? You guys are acting like these people are fucking heroes.

To me, there's something to be said for loyalty. The easiest thing to do would've been to quit, which like I said is what I would've done in a New York minute.

So why didn't they just call Quiznos headquarters or whatever and try to get a new owner or something? Or did I just miss that part in the article?

And the fact that Seattle is one of the most expensive cities to live in, and jobs are a pain in the ass to look for there, I can understand why the manager kept it going.

Loyalty? This wasn't a cancer treatment clinic or something. They were making sandwiches! If you want to show off your work ethic, at least do it for a job that pays in the two digits per hour... :lol

Wow, that's pretty sad.

I take it you've never worked at a job for longer than a year in your life, have you?

:lol Man, you're not getting me...the smart thing would've been to leave, provided they had another place to go. I don't know why they stayed back, but I give them respect for doing so. And hopefully they're rewarded for their efforts.
