ok so, a couple of friends and i got pretty wasted last night, and this game made it on to the TV screen out of nowhere.

in any case, being that we were drunk, and well, that it's R.C. Pro-AM, we ended up stopping everything and put a good 4 hours into the game.

aside from making a thread to discuss how awesome the game is, im just curious, has anyone out there beat the game? we made it a good 70 levels in or so, and really felt like it was never gonna happen.

is there actually an ending, or did rare bust out a really great sick joke?

It doesn't end. Eventually your "trophy room" fills up and you keep on entering races anyway.

I would play for hours, pause the game, play for more hours, pause the game, eat, sleep, go to school, etc., play for more hours and I never, ever could beat the game. The seeds of Rare-hate were definitely planted there...

RC Pro-Am is the greatest racing game ever made.

Second greatest. Nothing tops Super Mario Kart. Rock n' Roll racing was also great.

Rare was awesome on the NES. Cobra Triangle, R.C. Pro Am, Battletoads. mmmmmm

And yes, booze leads to NES gaming.

Seriously, did the game loop? I distinctly remember there being 32 levels, and I could only make it to 24. So after 32 it just goes back to 1? Maybe I'm wrong.

The reason I could never get any farther was because of the freaking orange car that would use some sick form of nitrous in the later races and honestly move 5 times faster than the other cars. R.C. Pro-Am truly is one of the greatest racing games out there, though, for sheer fun factor.

The only game I for sure remember looping is Xevious. I was really disappointed when I discovered that too.

This is like the only game my dad plays. And I love the music! Man that gets me pumped! That's probably the one game I'll be sure to buy on Rev. If they'll even have it.

I had no idea Rare developed it until now. Dang. Big ups to Rare! Boh boh boh!

Right, and after 64, your trophy case is filled up and subsequent races just sorta overwrite the 64th Trophy that is displayed when you win. And yes, the game never does end. On my best run I made it to 70something and just ran out of ammo.

Oh, and after 32, it gets to the point where all three of the AI cars do the nirtrous-from-hell stuff.
