NEW YORK (AP) _ A member of rapper Jay Z's entourage maced R. Kelly during a joint concert at Madison Square Garden, Kelly's publicist said.

The spraying happened about an hour into Friday night's show, when Kelly walked on stage and said he saw two people in the audience waving guns, his publicist Allan Mayer said. Kelly abruptly stopped his set at about 9:30 p.m. while Garden security employees searched for weapons.

Finding none, guards told Kelly it was safe to continue performing, Mayer said. But as the singer was making his way back to the stage, a young man in Jay Z's entourage _ apparently miffed that Kelly interrupted the show _ sprayed him and two of his bodyguards in the face.

"I'm pretty sure Jay didn't realize what was going on," Mayer said in a phone interview.

Jay went to the radio station after the concert and basically called the tour off except for the other NYC shows... after that he is done and he wants nothing to do with R kelly, although R kelly says he is down for the rest of the tour.... THE SHOW TONIGHT SHOULD BE EVENTFUL AT nyc,..... HAHA

Then some miscommunication happened (It turned into a Jay concert and Kells tried to crash it?) and he was restricted to come on the stage.

Jay Z pulled the plug on concert partner R. Kelly last night, knocking the crooner off a double bill at Madison Square Garden and taking the stage for a solo show.
The move marked the end of their troubled "Best of Both Worlds" tour.

The long-simmering feud between the rap superstar and the R&B singer exploded after Kelly walked out of their first Garden show Friday night and was allegedly blasted with pepper spray by a Jay-Z flunky.

Thanks! Personally I think that was a bitch ass move of Jay-Z because he should have been a man and stood by his boy R. Kelly. I remember when Jay-Z left R. Kelly with no support when the alligations first hit and Jay-Z refused to help promote the Best Of Both Worlds album. Also look at what Jay-Z did to Foxy even thought they came into the game together. Jay-Z is just a bitch, I wish R. Kelly had wupped his ass. Now that would have been funny.

Honestly, I had no idea why they did another album, unless it was to satisfy a contract. I heard there was friction recording the first CD. Either way, if makes Jay and R look bad and costs them both money. I have no idea why R is not in jail already or atleast in court.

Just listened to that interview. Thanks for posting. R sounds like he is lying throughout the entire interview. All the Uhhhs and stutters while Jay is just telling it like it is. But seems like R is the new 'Teflon Don', nothing he does affects him or his sales.
