Rallisport Challenge 2 Thread - Tips To Succeed.

Im tired of losing to french people. Are there just certain cars I need to go for? How do I even begin to compensate for the speeds of the top cars. The fastest I like is the Focus Air Force, anything faster I almost cant handle.

Also whats with the tyre settings, ive never monkied with it but I always see people fucking around in the gearbox in online games and I just dont get whats going on.

Also, solid is the way to go. Ghost mode SUCKS. I can do time trials on my own time thanks. We need to get even a small group together, not many games out there.

why is there like 3-4 RSC2 thread in the last 2 days? The game isn't all that.

that'd help to make this thread worthwhile.

One of the best...if not THE best racing game this generation.

You'd think there'd be a lot more threads! :)

Shut up bitch. Next time post a picture of a female. I know it might be hard with you gay pron stash, but please try next time.

Forget the guys who are obsessed over Princess Peach...Ryudo's pic is going to generate a new breed of sex-starved Nintendites with unhealthy crushes.

I found tightening up the suspension (stiffer front will promote understeer, stiffer rear will promote oversteer - set it higher, but keeping a bias to your liking) and brakes made it easier to consistantly enter corners properly, which improved my times and my racing overall.

on topic...

i dont screw with any settings, unless its gear ratio. it is almost always to your benefit to slide it all the way to the left, for short gear ratios. obviously, easier stages where you get decent stretches to top out on, you may want to balance that more towards the default middle setting, but i dont think i ever increase it past that.

i would recomend getting good at manual, maybe only if your really doing time trails though and really learning a certain course to get your best time possible.

as far as cars go, in rally a, i go for the accent, rally b the subaru. group b its all about the rs200, though i do use the 205 for fun sometimes, and it is definitely still competitive with the rs200. hill climb, you wanna use the tacoma, no doubt about it.

the key to getting good at the game is learning the courses! seriously, if you can learn the stages pretty well, then you'll begin to know exactly where you can push the accelerator, and where to back off. it will become a balancing act of pushing your car fast enough, while still remaining safe, though really, mistakes where you need to reset to the course should almost never happen (unless your doing time attack, in which case you'll probably be pushing so fucking hard, you'll wanna reset the race a million times before you finish on race :D)

hope that helped a bit.

i'll be down to play some rounds tomorrow afternoon (say 4-6 pst) if anyone wants to

I drive a manual in real life but thats way different from a game (pad) so ill have to practice. Thanks for the tips. I dont know much about cars beyond driving them.

Ok so im trying to do manual in RSC2. I drive manual in real life, but obviously this will be different.

My main problem has been between 3rd and 4th. Ill be in the red in third, ill shift to 4th and ill just fuckin drag, so in short my acceleration sucks past third and I usually fall behind. Maybe im timing it wrong?

I agree with op_ivy about the gear ratios - most courses never let the car get close to fully winding out.

By selecting the shortest ratios, you'll be changing gears twice as much as with the default setting. Because of all the quick changes, you've got a lot more opportunities to make mistakes and you'll be much better off sticking with the auto.

honestly, i wouldnt even bother using manual... i dont, unless i'm going to be spending hours on a single stage. in fact, when i use it, its cause i know the stage so well, that i know when to shift down based on specific portions of the track. its not cause i got good with manual. i'd probably be having the same problem if i picked up the game in manual on a course i'm not 95% familiar with....

and i'll see you on around 4. hopefully a few others will join too. though i'm not a big fan of collisions on, cause of the wacky collision physics the game has... but it does make for a good time at least.

yeah well I get off at 4, ill be home at 4:30 ish ;) Ill be there tho, I wanna race win or lose.

I dunno manual is a lot about the feel of the road, I cant do that so much in a videogame. The red line and sound is my only indicator, and even when I shift at those points it just hits bottom. Auto is good enough for me in this case.
