Yes to both! Family gather and visit to each other's households and friend's homes are customary as well.
Also sweets and coffee. Lots of sweets and coffee.
Depends on where you live it might be a little different. Usually people put on new clothes, have a family gathering, give money or gifts to their young relatives, have fun together, and give charity/help the poor. Or at least, that's how it should go ideally.
It varies from place to place, think of like Christmas but without all the booze.

Traditionally, eid morning starts off with special Eid prayers, after that it's upto people. In most cases families get together to spend the day together, all kids (and teenagers or anyone in general who isnt earning yet) gets eid gifts which mostly means money. Also traditionally people eat something sweet before leaving for eid prayers.

I'm currently in Morocco visiting (expat embassy workers) family and my sister in law and their Muslim neighbors all said Eid isn't until tomorrow here.

Eid is tomorrow for me as well. Hope the rest of you are enjoying yourselves.
Prayers in the morning, first thing. Beyond that, at least in my family, we just get together. Its not a big thing now that my immediate family, and my parents immediate family, are on the older side. We just stay in, play video games. Maybe go to a movie. Nothing crazy.
Kids get money and gifts, yeah. I used to leave with a lot of it. Every older family member would throw us smaller notes. Added up.

It's radicalisation, and it should not be ignored, FB should be flagging these accounts, we cannot allow terrorist threats to go without punishment. Awful.

I would flag this to the police. I don't use FB myself but isn't all of this stuff trackable? They should be able to find who ever posted this stupid threat? After what happened in London there should be a zero tolerance for this type of stuff.

Sure you can. My boyfriend did a design on his wrists last year. I see a bunch of men at henna parlors whenever I go as well.

Man it was great seeing so many friends and family today. Mom made some dope food as usual. Bliss. I cant believe its over already. Post Ramadan sadness has set in

I've done henna on my hands and arm before and I'm a man, I don't thinks it's a problem at all. It looks really rad!

I actually dont like biryani 😶

I used to be the same, but that was because I ate crap biriyani and wedding biriyani. A family friend made some and it was good, my mum makes it every couple of months as well and its nice.
It's good when spicy, and when not filled with raisins and that fried onion. God do I hate them.

Fried onions are good but yeah no thanks to the raisins, cinnamon and other stuff thats in the biryani. I prefer mine as plain as possible.

I dont think I've had it with tomatoes but Bengalis def put raisins on the biryani. Gotta add sweets to EVERYTHING!
I've heard so much about Hyderabadi biryani that I cant imagine it ever living up to the hype
I went through a contrarian phase where I didnt like biryani. What a horrible period of my life that was.
My mum has never put raisins in biryani, nor has she cooked anything sweet... Is sweet supposed to be a Bengali thing?

Yeah I noticed in just about every Bengali dawat, there were raisins in the biryani or the pulao. I also grew up eating sweets (rasmalai, balushai, etc.) after meals and my family has always made sweet variations of curries and stuff. I've also had other non Bengalis joke about it before.
