Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart I New Extended Gamescom Gameplay Demo

Eh, I'm just not impressed with visuals. All I care about in terms of games are interesting gameplay mechanics. Rift Apart looks to be...more Ratchet...but I've never been impressed with the franchise and there's no reason to be now.

I mean...how long can you look at this?

Are you making a reference to Microsoft teasing us the systems capabilities?

Reddit - gifs - Street cat vs key

We have been seeing games run on the PS5 so I don't think Sony is doing that to us.

Mate you shill for Fortnite but yet you're here complaining about this game being made for an ADD child?

Give it a rest.

Think of it this way.

In Fortnite, you can play a 21 minute match, and only kill 5 enemies. 5 human enemies that are incredibly unpredictable and are often very hard to deal with.

In Ratchet and Clank you can play for 21 minutes and kill 89,437,518 enemies that are all designed to be fodder for the player.

Its "OMG we can not bore the player" game design so they just shove visual clutter in your face non stop. It's bukaki, the game.

The audio quality is absolutely insane compared to the PS4. Also, is this 30fps? It's butter smooth!
Nice to see someone else also noticing this. I was blow away with the audio and that's from Youtube! Also, the image quality is surreal, what a great looking game. Congratulations, Insomniac and Sony!

Fortnite is full of kids and bots (actual bots from Epic).

Coolest thing in the demo is the loading for me, awesome to see that finally in console games. Didnt even really notice the particle effect after playing something like Control on PC gonna take a lot to draw my attention.

Prob best thing shown so far for next gen but really not an improvement on what I'm already playing. Prob be more excited if I was a ratchet fan but I was already out of its age range when it 1st came out so I have zero nostalgia for it. Barely got thru the Mario game on switch and I grew up with that franchise.

There's a ton of compression especially on the high end, but damn, the bass made my non-bassy open back AKG's rumble in a very tasty way. The audio is pretty much 3rd, I honestly thought one of the people screaming was my girlfriend calling me downstairs (i'm facing back against the wall). Super clear, tons of unique sources, perfectly weighted soundscape. This to me showed the vision Cerny was talking about: Fast loading, seamless transitions between "levels", amazing graphics and top of the line audio.

I was truly surprised. Of course it is Youtube, there is tons of compressions, but THE GAME AUDIO (and not the Youtube) still surpassed the limitations of the platform and surprised me a lot. Can't imagine how it is going to sound while playing the game. I guess the Tempest Engine really is out of this world. Color me surprised.

I was watching it via YouTube and it's the sound direction that impressed me the most.

Edit: Dang when he hits those metal dogs. The sound is just amazing.

Looks great. I mean, looks the same as last time we saw it. But very nice.

Although I do hope they can fix the stuttering/jank when a new dimension is entered. It distracts me a ton every time it happens.

Impressive, so much stuffs on screen, maybe too much for my taste, it is a bit messy.
I hope the game will have a slower pace (I am sure it will) because several hours like this and my head will explode.

I know what you mean, but I think it'll be okay. They must be selecting the most visually impressive sections they can, to show the public. I just finished replaying PS4 Ratchet and Clank, and that game (and all the other R&C games I've played) had a good sense of pace. It wasn't just a non-stop, frantic action shooter. There were slower, simpler levels, levels focused on puzzle solving, etc. I imagine this will be the same.

I cant tell if this style of shitposting its real or a joke xD

That would be trolling.

Are we certain this isn't CGI? I haven't seen graphics on this level ever!

There will also be no loading in the entire game. It was also smart of them to add the purple transition portal between dimensions otherwise it would look weird. Even though with the speed of PS5's SSD it wasn't needed

It is needed actually. Filling up RAM with a new set of data (a new dimension) will still take something like 2 seconds even with the very fast SSD. And they probably can't have two of them loaded at once (if they did, each one would have to be simpler), so they need a "buffer zone" between them. If they could do an instant jump I'm sure they would.

Very impressive indeed. But not a killer app for me. Also, I'm very worried about this is not a launch title, what we should play on PS5 at launch?

Why are you even in this thread then? Gtfo here with that debbie downer attitude if you're not even interested. It's pretty sad you actually came in here knowing you were just going to talk shit.

Possibly my stream quality , I wasn't overly impressed in all honesty, it didn't give me that "oh wow" feeling a new generation usually provides.

Still, it looks lovely and I have no doubt it will be fun. I really enjoyed the remake/remaster on PS4, it was my first R&C game and that along with Sunset and Spider-Man made me really appreciate Insomniac games.

My guess is a Feb-March release.

Some of us like watching bukaki and now in 4k with RT electrolyte droplets

See MS is catering too much to the internet forum crowd talking about framerate all of the time when most people want next gen for upgraded visuals and game design. Yes framerates are important but most games play just fine at 30fps and if you give MOST people the option they'd rather have better graphics at a locked 30 than going for 60fps or 120fps (total waste there) with less impressive graphics.

Obviously fighting games, racing games and competitive online shooters should be 60fps but most 3rd person action games, open world etc are just fine at 30fps as long as it's locked. The best of both worlds is giving people the option for fidelity or performance when available but that's more work than just flipping a switch so it depends on what devs have the time and money to do.
You're talking out your ass.

I have said it many times, it is my observation that most people dont really use their eyes.
go ahead my friend, capture for me a gameplay screenshot (not cinematic) from today's new video where there is side movement from the player and we'll see how not-blurry it is.
oh, and capture for me a close up of the enemies, and see if you can come even 50% close to the clarity of that craig face you so much like

what you are "getting" here, is ony in direct relation to whatever you are able to understand.
100% of xbox related threads are filled with the worst kind of comments
if you like console racism, I dont

Yes try and convince everyone else that they don't use their eyes.

Salty boy.

I have the ps4 ratchet and clank, it looks great on the ps4pro but I've not been interested in playing it other than once with my now ex girlfriends daughter at the end of last year.

I think it's best to watch a few gameplay trailers of the new one but £70 is not happening.

I think Fortnite is garbage and I'm glad Ratchet is nothing like it.

Not every game needs to be competitive multiplayer. You need to stop beating that drum every chance you get. Maybe read a book, watch a movie, the. get out of the house and do something with your friends while talking about it. I say this because you keep insisting every game should be this online thing, so clearly you are in desperate need to connect.

Trying to force your views of what gaming should be on others isn't nice. Gaming can accommodate all kinds of experiences.
