I don't know what's going on with my amazon order of the game. It arrived at my local processing facility for UPS this morning at 710, 8 minutes later, it's status updated to "out for delivery"...then a minute after that, it had another status saying it arrived at my local facility, no longer having an "out for delivery" status. I don't know if it's on it's way or not =/

I finished the main Legends "story" with 570/700 lums. I still need to do a chunk of Origins levels and some Invaded levels.

Some thoughts:
+ game looks beautiful (some visually less interesting worlds too though)
+ excellent soundtrack
+ collecting is fun and rewarding
+ plays smoothly and controls nicely
+ music levels (much to my surprise some of the most enjoyable stages in the game)
+ fun, light hearted, vibrant and happy "make you smile" stuff
+ varied gameplay

- definately easier than Origins. In most cases, little effort is needed to get gold and collect everything
- the new checkpoint system means you get lazy as a player
- a bit of a mixed bag without any overall focus, more a collection of ideas
- too many Murfy levels and too few traditional levels

It's apparent that this game had a different audience in mind when it started as a Wii U exclusive. It's more meant as a family friendly touch/gamepad "let's all play together and have fun"game than a "hardcore" platform game (with the first Wii U trailers, it was advertised as such too iirc).

It's a different game. Although you will not hear me tell you that Origins was the pinnacle in platform and level design either. In a way, the more varied approach of Legends could have worked even better than Origins (which had a lot but quite similar levels) but the development team didn't quite manage to pull it off.

In the end though, i really enjoyed my time with Legends. My games don't need to be really hard to be fun. I wouldn't have mind one or two more worlds and a tad more challenge but i think it was meant, on purpose, to be a different game than Origins.

Not the corcker i would have hoped for then but i would still give it 8.5 or 9 out of 10. Because, in the end, i had a good time with Rayman Legends.

That definitely seems to be the angle they're going for. The game feels like it addresses a lot of the complaints people would have had playing Origins in co-op. I remember seeing a lot of "the later stages are just too hard for my partner", and I personally always just wound up loading my own completed save since the collectible barriers broke all the flow in a co-op setting.

For what it is I think the game is well made, and I love the sense of energy it has. I know more singleplayer focused players will be disappointed in some fashion, but as someone who plays games with friends of varying skill levels regularly its nice to have a solid platformer "party" title instead of constantly turning to Just Dance or something.

Having borrowed the game from a friend I'm pretty disappointed with how the game is set up. I expected the game to have learned from the padding from the previous game but Legends feels like the Challenge App with a massive expansion pack thrown into it. The game feels like it's all over the place with levels and unlockables scattered a bit inconsistently, especially when it comes to unlocking new levels within other worlds that you haven't even gotten to yet. It also becomes even more confusing being able to unlock a lot of the world-specific characters before you've even gotten passed the first world.

The game itself is fun even if a tad on the easy side but despite enjoying the mechanics and levels a lot more I'm not getting the sense that there's much of a cohesive direction here. Even the story doesn't make sense to me.

I dunno, maybe I felt that with this game they'd try to replicate the grander scale of adventure like Rayman 3 had. The game has a ton of great ideas and levels, I just wish they were strung along better.

Can anyone answer my Wii U controller question from a few pages back?

Does it allow Wiimote+CC Pro?

If the back of the box is to be believed, yes.

Sorry if this has been asked, but I am getting the Wii U version in soon, does it allow for play like the 360/PS3 versions with the Pro controller? Not really excited about the gamepad play from what I played on the Wii U Challenge app.

Will you be able to have multiple save files? My girlfriend loves to steal my Vita for platformers and Rayman Origins only allowed for one save file so we kind of ended up playing "together" in a way. I'd prefer to be able to have my own save file without having to tell her she can't play until I'm done with the game.

I have no idea which version to get now. Wii U is the game as it was intended, Vita is portable goodness, but missing levels. PC master-race goodness at a lower price, but QTEs instead of touch, tell me what to do GAF!

Hack wii U gamepad support into the PC version

Only for multiplayer. singleplayer must be done using gamepad

Sorry, no button options. Just touchscreen.
And if you didn't like the murfy level's i'd be careful if i were you, they are close to 40% of the new content.

Just one save file per profile on wii u.

2 Origins world left before I 100% this game.
But then I spend too much time on challenges, I hope Ubisoft will improve this for the next Rayman game, it's just too addictive :p

I guess I should have looked closer to see if the game uses Uplay. I guess I will play this game someday. But probably not.

I DID look closer to see if the game had UPlay. I searched the page when I pre-ordered for "UPlay" and "DRM" and got no results. Now that the game is out, the page has been updated to include the fact that it uses UPlay.

Fuck you, Ubisoft. This is the last time I buy a product of yours.

So, anybody else with the Vita version? I want to know if it's just me who can't access the challenge mode right now. It's getting annoying that the servers apparently don't seem to be up.

Yes 60fps. Yes, missing the Invaded stages (time trial bonus stages that take 40-60 seconds each and have leaderboards). We don't know why yet.

My guess is that they were pulled to be sold as DLC to make up for the cheaper price tag of Vita games.

Thanks for the speedy response! I assume each stage has an "Invaded Stage"? Stinks that they're all missing!

Does Kung Foot just have the one level?

I'm super excited for that mode. It'll hold me over till Bara Bari Ball comes out with Sportsfriends.

Wait a sec, are you saying 40% of the levels are Murfy levels?
Theres 9-10 levels per world, and in general 2-3 are Murfy levels

In world 1 the character rescue stages are based on a Murfy-centered challenge type so theres 5 in that one but those two stages are completely optional and only unlock regular Barbara and an alternative version

yes i am,
everywhere i looked before the game released had a different answer, even ubisoft kept changing it from around 20% to 30% then back to 10%.

I've played the game, it's not. Almost every other level is a murfy stage.
world 1 has 5 murfy stages and 5 rayman ones, but they get less frequent towards the end.

not counting the origins stages, i'm almost certain it's around 40%

There are 40 "main" levels (not counting the chases and bosses I guess). 27 are traditional platforming, 12 are Murfy. Sorry, but you're just wrong. The facts don't lie. That's about 25% Murfy.

I enjoyed the Murfy levels in the Challenges App, but that thing really encouraged being a perfectionist. It wasn't just about "beating" levels, so you had to push yourself to nail those actions with expert timing and finesse. I can see the Murfy stuff wearing out its welcome quickly in Legends' main game without that added incentive.

Ok, my bad. Sorry
Although i would count the chases as regular levels. I'm going to go and check again.
But to me it really did feel more like 40%
Are there really only 12 murfy stages in the game? i could have sworn there were more. That's a big mistake for me to have made if your correct.
sorry everyone.

Wow... I love it even more than I thought I would so far. I thought based on impressions the Murfy levels might be a bummer since most people said they'd be better with touch, but I like them here too. Like I have to wall kick off a platform back to a wall, then hit circle then wall kick again to jump back against the now higher moved platform. Adds a little extra to normal platforming. Nice change of pace. Maybe they aren't as good as the touch versions I can't say, but they haven't been a negative so far. Maybe they might be overwhelming to do both later on though, but so far they've been fun. Maybe my expectations were just low for these, but I don't mind them so far.

And then the regular levels have been excellent.Lots of variety in levels so far. I haven't gotten to invasion or Origin remakes either. Just played the first world. It is definitely easier than Origins especially to unlock all the cups/collect all the teensies, but so far so good.

Also I probably mentioned this when her trailer released, but I love Barbera's design. I was looking at the trophies and it seems there might be more princesses which is cool. I hope they have awesome designs too.

Yes multiple save slots are present.

Theres two princesses per world (and typically the second one is a gothy version).
My favorite are the spy ones in 20,000 Lums Under The Sea
