Alright, 700 Teensies/700, took me 17 hours (and probably 3 or 4 hours in the challenges mode).
Next step is getting 1 million lums.

Went and picked this up on my lunch break from GameStop (exclusive costume!). I was the only Wii U pre-order and they had one Wii U floor copy. Bomba?

Just finished Teensie's in Trouble 100% and ran some daily challenges on Steam love it so much! I like to slow burn this series so I forced myself to stop after that. This will keep me occupied for awhile. :D

Only thing I didn't like was Uplay is required but that's ok I got Origins free and paid 1/4 what it cost on console. Oh and Legends is a wallpaper generator haha so pretty.

Is there a code for the preorder costume? I just picked up my preorder from them but I see no code on the reciept or inside the box (the sales clerk thought the code would be in the box).

I wanted that costume.

Ubi sent our store just three of each retail version. They must not have huge expectations for the game on any system.

For the guy asking about CC support, it is listed on the back of box, along with Pro Controller support, so you should be all clear.

I'm back at work but I'm pretty sure it's in the box since this is on it:

FWIW I got a brief glimpse at the floor copy but I don't think I saw that GameStop Exclusive content marker on it. Soo... maybe the guy gave you a non-pre-order copy...

Grr, thanks!

I:m gonna head back there an see if I can score the correct copy, even though I already opened the game. Crap!

I really wish this came out earlier in the year... I managed to get a copy of W101 early at PAX and now I'm going to wait a bit to pick this one up... Fuck. Plus GTA 5 comes out in 2 weeks... blargh.

Just completed the 5 main worlds and now working on unlocking the last one. Cleaning up the invasion paintings now, got 3 left, but man
these dark rayman levels don't fuck around!

I currently have Wii U ver ordered bit after playing ps3 demo. I'm wondering if the Murphy levels are better off playing with tradition controller. Question for me is how much do I want to look down to my gamepad

To me the big question is, are you planning to mostly do co-op or solo play?
Wii U looks like the definitive version for coop, but for solo Id go with it on PS3

I actually thought multiple times playing through the murfy stages on PC "Man, this would SUCK if I wasnt controlling Rayman and playing solo". Some people seem to like that but idk its just not for me (well maybe if that was the hook for Rayman Jungle Run sequel)

Once you get used to calling in Murfy I dont think the stages feel that different from the traditional ones, but idk people in this thread disagree with me on that.

Some misc. thought about the leaderboards, ghosts etc. correct me if I'm wrong or overlooked stuff about this. (this is on the PC)

1:For invasion levels, being unable to see a comprehensive list of leaderboards is very annoying. The fact that you have to access an actual level just to see its leaderboard is even more annoying. If you can so easily locate the challenge leaderboards, why is it so (comparatively) difficult to find invasion level leaderboards.

2: For both challenges and invasion levels, being unable to see a specific persons ghost, e.g. the top player to see how they've gone about things is annoying. The lack of any ghosts at all while doing invasion levels sucks.

3: That extra objective screen during challenges, while introducing only a single extra button press, completely ruins the fast fail system present in the rest of the game. These challenges are named exactly for what they are, challenge, so you expect to die more on these levels than any other. In an invasion level, you die, it is instantly 3, 2, 1, and you're gone. Challenges, gotta hit that button again. Small, but annoying.

I guess I understand the ghost thing a bit, it's so you don't get everyone instantly copying the same route or whatever. It makes sense. But you should still be able to select a certain persons ghost if you are within say....10 - 20 places lower than them in the leaderboard, imo.

Hold on, I haven't been paying attention to the other versions, I assumed all the platforms were just like PC where in Murphy levels you control Rayman, except on Wii U if you had a coop partner they could be Murphy on those levels. So some version of the game you actually lose control of Rayman completely?

If so that's pretty funny. Playing with a 360 pad, and after rebinding Murphy from Y (the dumbest button I've ever seen for a quick reflex mechanic) to left trigger, it made the Murphy levels as smooth as butter. I figured everyone's dislike for them was just hyperbole since they don't like "change", the same way people tended to hate on the mosquito levels in Origins.

Tried the Vita demo and only played the first level. How much do you end up having to do the gyro control stuff? Was really a big turnoff when I ran into that =/

Do you mean literally just the gyro or the touch screen/gyro stuff in general?

If you mean gyro, not much. If you mean touch/gyro in general, a lot.

Closing in on reaching 700 Teensies, just finished up all the back to Origins stages and came to the conclusion that Sea of Serendipity/Luscious Lakes have the weakest stages in Origins, grouping all the water stages together just highlights how samey they can be.
Anyway I can safely say Legends wins out on water stages and boss battles, even if Legends bosses can be a drag they're not quite the trial and error madness (well they sort of still are) of those in Origins which do in fact die really fast once you remember how to do it, but that relearning process ain't fun, weakpoints that pop up for mere seconds that practically demand prior knowledge to hit.

It would be smooth sailing on the way to 700 now but Invaded Infiltration Station is a thing that exists.

speaking of the 700 teensy reward
I cant tell if the golden teensy you unlock is supposed to be a dig at NSMB2 or not

and I agree the boss battles in Legends are definitely superior. Id peg all but the Armored Toad as on par with Rayman 1's if the checkpoint system wasnt so lenient. I keep meaning to post about how much I dig them but forgetting

For anyone who doesn't want to get the PC version because of uPlay, it's not all that bad

I've never had trouble with uPlay (although I skip any always-online games). The big problem is that it's another unnecessary DRM layer. Once Ubi pulls a Microsoft and decides that they don't care about their servers, I can't reinstall my game without a crack.

Probably a total of 3 minutes throughout the whole game.

Literally just the gyro. Thanks for the responses! Even if it doesn't happen that much I can't stand forced gyro controls. I can only afford one Vita game this month and between this and Killzone Mercs I'm leaning towards the latter. I'll probably pick this somewhere down the line though. Still have to finish Origins anyways.

What is the deal with the tickets? Are they random or do will I unlock all items if I get every ticket in the game? I'm just scratching them off completely right?

I disagree completely. IMHO the Murfy stuff adds a dimension to the game. It causes you to actually think about those areas of the levels differently which to me is very refreshing. What you are saying might be true on the other platforms (the sequences not seeming much different) but on the Wii U it really causes you to view the level in really a whole new light. I think the game is the better for them and if you have a Wii U it is unquestionably the version to get because of it. Worst case scenario is you don't agree with me that they are truly great, but I think that stupid gamespot review was the only one out there that actually found the Wii U versions of the Murfy stuff worse. Most everyone else finds it better to at least some degree.

I missed picking up my pre-order on GameSpot. Do you think I should just get it on the eShop instead and just move my $5 towards Wind Waker HD w/ figurine? (It's nice I don't have to pay tax on eShop too)

Took delivery of the Vita and PS3 versions today. I think I prefer the PS3 version because I prefer to do the Murphy levels with buttons.

I guess I'm a total noob, because I've died a fair number of times in the first world alone, at least when I'm going for all the collectibles. People complaining the game is easy must be ninjas.

So far I think it's pretty great. On par with Origins for me.

I'm still pretty early on, but this game makes me grin from ear to ear. Fun and beautiful - just wish it was a little bit more challenging.

Shit, gonna have to go out of town to get this. None of my Gamestop's received any extra copies of the game. Just enough for the dudes that pre-ordered.

Yeah, I'm loving it on Vita.

Still debating whther to just pick up my copy tomorrow (alas, I still have to pay tax), or just buy it off the eShop (no tax, but no GameStop preorder bonus). Is the Mario and Luigi costume still in the eShop version?

I don't think I've loved a platformer this much since Sonic 3 & Knuckles on Genesis. This is just everything I enjoyed about Rayman Origins and done even better. It's so good, so fun, and so charming from top to bottom. Definitely top ten this year for me.

God, there is so much in this game that Ubisoft could put into a sequel to Rayman Jungle Run. The Invaded levels and musical bonus stages are amazing, and I could see them working very well on iOS.

Yeah, although the musical stages are licensed which means it would probably cost too much for a typical iOS game.

After playing through the first world with my brothers, this is almost assuredly one of the best multiplayer games out there. It's so much fun with others.
