Rayman Legends |OT| "It's a bit like a porno" (Michel Ancel) WiiU/360/PS3/Vita/PC

Probably already answered several times but how does the Wii U version work when playing a 2 player game? Does someone have to control Murphy and always use the Wii U gamepad, or can you chose to always be Rayman and Globox and using wiimotes?

In the Murfy sections of the game the Gamepad player must play Murfy, for the rest (s)he can be any unlocked character. It is really fun in 2 players. The 20000 lums under sea chapter is probably the best to play co-op with one player being Murfy.

the final level is insane! i love it.
If you mean Grannys World Tour 8-bit, then yes, that was NUTS. I was laughing all the way through it... and it took me quite a few tries (and eye adjustments) to be successful. :)

Now it's just the Back to Origins levels (another 160 or so Teensies to go), and that'll wrap this up... just in time for Zelda and Mario's arrival tomorrow.

grannies world tour 8-bit. yep, that was the one. i think it's absolutely marvelous how they managed to make something so funny by way of pure design. i had such a huge smile on my face when i beat it (on my third try i think).

I think I finished Granny's World Tour 8-bit on my first try. I think.
Nice! The funny thing is that I loaded it up again today to show my wife, and I made it through unscathed just fine. She couldn't even follow what was happening, which made it all the better. :)

GAF, help me out here.

Now that I've finally got the platinum trophy for Grand Theft Auto V I can now chip away at my backlog. I've narrowed it down to this on the Vita or Muramasa Rebirth.....I'd probably prefer to play Muramasa first, but I keep hearing about some super hard trophy that's only going to get harder to get the longer I wait to play Rayman? Something about weekly challenges or something like that? Is that true? If that's the case I'll start Rayman first since I'll want to get all the trophies. So what should I do?

Actually the Vita ver. should be easier to Platinum. The only irritating Trophy is the 'Reach Lvl. 11' trophy which requires you to play the online modes and earn awards to increase you rank. Thing is the final Lvl. requires 2000 Points, and the points you get from awards are as follows:
Bronze: 1 Pt.
Silver: 5 Pts.
Gold: 10 Pts.
Diamond 50 Pts.
There are 2 online challenges a day, and 2 more that last a week. Effectively you will do 16 challenges per week. Now Getting Diamond is tough since you gotta be among the top 10% percentile and the difference between the minimum for Gold and Diamnod is fucking staggering.

In short, Platinum is do-able, but time consuming. ATM I'm 900 points away from the Platinum, and am sometimes not in the mood to bother getting even a Silver on some online challenges.

Otherwise it's a great Vita game to play and I strongly recommend it.

Thanks for clearing that up. I guess "the longer I wait the harder it'll be to get the platinum trophy" wasn't true after all. Great, now I don't feel so pressured to start the game ASAP.

I forgot to mention that you can reach Lvl. 9/10 fairly easy by completing the main game, but make sure you play the online challenges each day at least to speed up getting the Platinum.

So I've finally had a chance to play this game, after being without a modern console or PC for most of the year. It's superb, wow. I loved Origins, so I guess I'm an easy sell, but Legends improves upon it in almost every single aspect: level design, content, presentation, and beyond. The only misstep is the Murray gimmick. It's only a mild annoyance, but it's pretty obvious that it was something meant to justify the at-once Wii U exclusivity, and it feels tacked when you're playing without someone controlling him on a tablet. But again, it's a minor thing, and it doesn't detract from the beautiful platforming goodness of the rest of the game.

I'm basically gonna be playing this non-stop the rest of the year, especially now that Lady Snuggles wants in on some co-op action. Good shit.

OK, I bought this a few weeks ago on a steam sale (like 20US$ for those who wander) and I say this is an incredible game.

I played origins on the Wii and loved it, although I didn't care for the mosquito levels; but this game is better in every single way to Origins (Wii version was superb btw, HD or not; don't touch the 3DS version though).

I love how the levels are larger; Origins had levels separated by doors, so there were many "rooms" in a level. Origins still has some rooms in some levels, but there are much less and it feels better IMO.

Gone are the mosquito levels (I'm in world 4, so I hope I'm right) and the non Rayman stuff, and that's awesome.

I'm playing on PC, so Murphy levels don't control very well; but it's really a non issue; I even got gold cup in the Murphy challenge; maybe it's easier with a button press than WiiU.

I love the challenges; it's awesome to measure your skills against others, and the climbing, distance and some speed levels are very fun. Killing enemy challenges or getting lums suck though.

The game has some Origins levels too, in a special section, and when you play those you'll notice that those levels were much worse than the new ones in Legends.

There are special music levels; where the gameplay is synchronized with music and are really fun, shows you how much love the developers put on these.

Buy Legends (it will be bomba priced very soon); it's an awesome game, much better than Origins; still not on par with DKCR, but still is very good and there are some levels that are absolutely insane. And cuts all the filler crap Origins had.

Only bad point is that there is no tutorial, so you have to remember all the moves from origins (I had forgotten that the jump when running up a wall was different and felt hell in a distance challenge, until I figured it out).

Also, what's with the soccer game? it's only playable online?

So I just got the Vita version for the $19.83 bomba price at Wal-mart, and I'm wondering how crazy the final level looks when the screen splits into a hundred when it's on a 5 inch Vita screen LOL

Has anyone found a way to beta todays extreme challenge on Vita? It's seemingly impossible, since Globox just commits suicide after about 120 lums, and I'm quit sure that there is no way to get 150 lums before that point :(.

I know you're banned, but since I've only just read this post now: There is a trophy that's harder to get the longer you wait. On Vita, there is one trophy for getting a diamond trophy. The fewer people there are who play the game, the harder it is to get within the top percent (because you need to be among the best one percent of all players worldwide at the end of the challenge to get a diamond). Actually, I think it's easier to get all achievements on the other consoles than it is on Vita.

Hmm I may have came upon a way to maybe get the Platinum with less usage of the online mode, but I'd have to see it through first before I post about it.

I'm LTTP with one even though I got it on day 1 and begun playing it a week after then I never really came back to it until yesterday. Been doing the challenges now and my god it's really hard to get a Gold...

Whoever designed and thought Murfy missions was a good idea should be never be allowed to design platformers again :E

Such a horrible idea to have dumb as bricks AI character do precision platforming without the player even knowing the path they are going to be taking.

They couldnt do a paused "tactic planning" version with like a path being shown and you have to adjust things with Murfy and then unpause the game to have Rayman go through the pre-determined path with your modifications.

I've turned off the game so many times now in frustration due to the horrible AI. And i loved Origins, would have loved to complete this one too but due to so many forced Murfy missions im probably never going to finish this piece of garbage. (playing these on Vita)

/end rant

FUUUUUUUUU~ Seems like getting a diamond trophy on the Vita is near impossible.

Gonna finish off Beyond on the PS3 and then finally start the game and see how I go.

Having started going after that one 2 days ago, I'd say it's more time consuming than anything. I ended up at 50/3800 on the weekly challenge yesterday for example so getting in that top % is doable.

So I finally had the chance to play this game (Had to kill some backlog first) and... I'm terribly disappointed.
I have the Wii U version and the Murphy levels are so intrusive, worthless and boring.
I keep avoiding those like the plague. AI players are shit. They keep missing lums, Teensies and such.
The game is beautiful and I'm smiling the entire time when I AM actually playing but when I have to play those shitty Murphy levels, everything falls apart.
Focusing on the gamepad screen while missing the 1080p beauty was a huge mistake.
A massive letdown after playing a masterpiece like Rayman Origins.

How many of those levels are in the game?
Need to know to see if I keep playing it or just give it away.

Anyone else getting this giga annoying bug sometimes on the PS3 version that prevents you to access the new daily challenges? The pictures in the paintings have changed but when you jump in you are taken to the challenge you already did yesterday (and won't receive the trophies until next day). So friggin annoying especially since I'm just 39 points away from platinum trophy.

I'm encountering this right now. So annoying under 100 points till platinum..

I think 'Rescue Emma' might be the hardest thing I"ve ever done in a video game. I don't think I've ever been as stressed as I was playing that level in my life. My nerves are completely destroyed.

Oh my, you are just gonna love the last invasion levels then.

And if you want to reach highest level of awesomeness some what fast(1-2 months), consider Rescue Emma for a tutorial to get best times in Dojo Daily challenges.

As for me, as long as servers work, I should reach highest level of awesomeness and receive Platinum.

Yep, at Best Buy, between a sale(?) price of $39.99, the 20% off Gamers Club Unlocked discount, and the $15 off coupon emailed a few weeks back to GCU members, you can get Rayman Legends on Wii U for $16. I think the sale price is happening on the other SKUs too.

EDIT: Yep, it is. Xbox 360 and PS3 are both $39.99, too. Vita is $29.99.

I had been hanging onto the coupon ever since I got it, waiting and biding my time for a sale. Picking up a copy later today!

So..
How are the Murphy levels with traditional ps360 controls and do these levels take up a big part of the game ?
I played the challenge mode demo on wii u and liked the platforming part REALLY MUCH but the murphy gimmick stuff was horrible, it kept me from buying the full game. Im thinking about getting this on ps4 (don't own that wii u anymore).

Best Buy shipped my PS4 version preorder last night. I couldn't resist for $32 with gamers club discount even though I never finished PC version but absolutely loved it.

Next Gen goodies from IGN:
Additionally, the publisher has announced exclusive costumes available for Rayman and Globox depending which platform they opt to purchase the game on: Splinter Ray, Ray Vaas and Globox Vaas are heading to Xbox One, while Assassin Ray comes to PS4. You'll also be able to buy the Funky Ray costume with Uplay points.

The PS4 version of the game will have touchpad integration for actions like scratching Lucky Tickets, while the Xbox One version will have 10 exclusive challenges that can unlock time-limited Achievements.

Stupid Vita trophy, currently 48mins to go on the daily extreme challenge and I think I am 1 spot out of achieving a Platinum ingame trophy and thus the subsequent vita trophy...

Anyone with the Vita version wouldn't mind jumping on and just posting a crap time to help me out? lol

I played the PS4 port for a moment. It's hard to distinguish the visuals from the PS3 version, as expected. They seem to pop a little more at times, but I may be imagining that. It should run at a perfect 60FPS at all times, hopefully. That's the only thing that could be realistically improved.

The coolest addition is the camera mode, combined with the PS4's screen cap feature. I'm gonna take some sexy shots for sure.

The weekly challenge leaderboard confuses me. I manage to run 527 metres and when I check the leaderboard I'm listed as 8'33"47. Wtf does that mean?

PS4 day 1 challenge has barely over 2 hours left, 1552 people have played it. Should have gold locked up as I'm 149. Can't knock any time off my run 27.23 seconds.

Edit: somehow shaved half a second off 26.64, 92/1690.

Any idea how to unlock Assassin Ray? I don't see him in the Uplay browser or the hall of heroes.

Nevermind, he is in the hall of heroes. Best costume ever.

Why does Rayman Legends XB1 not have any challenges? I.E. Beat the game within the first month, or something like that. I was hoping to get some kind of "badge of honour" for being an early adopter, lol.

I just started the game, and I do intend to get the full 1000/1000. Fuck it's so hard to get that diamond trophy for today's challenge. =/

... However, playing today's challenge reminded me of why I absolutely adored Rayman Origins, and that's the treasure chest levels. Today's challenge feels like one gigantic treasure chest speed run.

Time to head to the store. :D
The only time I strongly dislike Murphy on PS3 is playing with multiple people. Solo it's no prob using him to move platforms, it's a somewhat fun addition, but it gets really frustrating trying to syncronize his actions with yourself other people at the same time. I can see how that would work way better with someone controlling him independently.

Replaying a couple of levels today reminded me how much i love the Rayman games and platform games in general. As somebody who doesn't own a Wii U, i'm drooling at screens and videos of Donkey Kong since that game looks fantastic too.

With Ancel moving onto other projects, i wonder if Ubisoft will continue making Rayman games. I hope they do as they are one of the only companies making platform games on Playstation and Xbox.

After 3-6 days on sale there's over 28,446 players on the PS4 leaderboards.

12736138094_5668a719b8_o.jpg

On November 20th 2013 (84 days on sale) when I reached maximum awesomeness, PS3 was up to 97,512 players.

It also looks like getting a platinum cup in today's challenge will be quite easy for veterans of a previous version. I got into the top .5% on my second Dojo attempt.

I'm addicted to this game on the PS4. Seriously, it's all I did all weekend. I've got my diamond cup in the first three worlds, finishing up the last two today, then it's onto the Origins levels. I've got my gold, silver, and bronze in the dailies, so I'm on my way to my fastest platinum yet.

It takes a good 12 weeks to reach Awesomeness 11 (Truly awesome! - Reach the final level of Awesomeness) via the Daily and Weekly challenges if you get gold for every one.
