Rayman Legends |OT| "It's a bit like a porno" (Michel Ancel) WiiU/360/PS3/Vita/PC

FWIW places that have broken street date in Europe don't have the Vita version, so it does look like it's delayed, but reviewers have it.

OT creation duties are typically claimed in the OT index thread, as is the case here.

Sure, but the OP wasn't updated and people were talking about it in the review thread so I assumed it wasn't taken. No biggie, I started working on it an hour-ish before it was posted.

Where can I get it for TF2 keys, and how many keys do people want in exchange for Legends? I presume they got Steam versions/gifts of the game? And if they do, does that come with free Origins?

Btw, GreenManGaming has the game for 40$, but with their 20% off coupon, you can get it for 32$ (Uplay version + Origins on their Capsule thingie). I'd go with that, but I'd rather get it on Steam.

Here, but I'm not sure there are any at the moment. It goes for 7 keys as far as I've seen, and yeah, you'd get Origins as well if bought before release.

1/ There's a LOT of touch based levels, so it's kind of stupid to get the PC360 one.

2/Tthis game is mostly based on co-op, why get the Vita copy if you can't play it with friends.

3/ WiiU retail is at 49€.

The game is very enjoyable, plenty of content.
The main hub is quite annoying, a bit confusing, a real map would have been more sexy.
There's no story, not a lot of cinematics.

"invasion" levels are more than just a time attack, its an entire new course each time.
Origins level have been very well remade.

If you don't know if you should play this or W101... Go for W101.
Legends is a very good game, but W101 is way more unique and you really need to play it !

You guys never got the memo that there is no price fixing in Europe. You can get the retail-version for 36 € already.

Thought about picking up the steam version later, but I think I'll go with the Wii U instead because touch/tilt-based levels and mp!

Simply Games has all the other formats for this game in stock except the Vita version.
Same for Shopto and their page now states its released (on the Vita) in nine days.

Something's up :-/

Yeah noticed that.
I ordered the Vita version from simplygames, (Happy I didnt order the Wii U version from them, still says its not in stock...)

Not looking good any shop will get the vita version this week though, just deeply annoying how reviewers are getting their copies, so the game is obviously gold, I dont know what reason they're using to justify it and I'll be pretty pissed if they just sweep the whole matter under the carpet like nothing happened.

Pre ordered this ages ago. Origins is one of the best platformers of all time for me so this is a no brainer. Will get my copy on Saturday and I will not stop until I see that platinum trophy pop. I'll probably double dip with the Vita version again and also platinum that like I did with Origins.

Oh, that's the place, thanks for the link. Now if only this thing had any form of search bar... Also, on the left is the thing people have, and on the right one they want, right?

Getting my copy tomorrow too, I wonder how the challenges progress will be transferred.

It's not, or at least not yet?. you begin at lvl 0 awesomeness. You can easily get a few levels with trophies during the main levels, though, so it souldn't be so long before you get access to the weekly and extreme challenges

It's already out early somewhere in europe. Bought yesterday the superior Wii U version.
Yeah, I saw it available today as well. Would have purchased it on the spot if it weren't for Nintendo's awful region coding policies. I kind of want it on Wii U but almost feel like buying another version instead rather than supporting their backward policies.

I think online stuff is not working right just yet. I didn't get a trophy for yesterday's challenge and the uplay rewards don't seem to show up. Perhaps by Friday it'll transfer.

Here :
"If you haven't yet had a chance to play the Rayman Legends Challenges App, now's the time! Players who have downloaded and played the Wii U App before 28 August will have the Online Challenges cups they earned and Level of Awesomeness transferred to Rayman Legends. They will also receive an exclusive "Funky Ray" bonus costume to unlock in Rayman Legends!"

Still trying to decide whether I want to buy this or not. I love 2D platformers, but only if they're mostly focused on pure platforming (Super Meat Boy is one of my favourite games ever) and not other random mechanics, or exploration/hidden areas, or puzzles, etc. Tried the demo of Origins, and while it was gorgeous, it didn't feel particularly fun to me. Recently played the demo of Legends on a friend's WiiU, and it also felt kinda bland, apart from the music level which was absolutely astonishing.

I feel like it's either gonna be the Puppeteer ot this for me this month. You can't ignore the praise for Legends, but then again the art style of the Puppeteer is amazing. Help me decide, GAF! Also, if I'm to buy it, which platform should I choose? I own a PS3 and a Vita.

Thanks a lot man, just got it for 7 TF2 keys, which is basically 10.5€ instead of 30€ original price. Plus, I got Origins too!

I'm gonna have to keep my eye on this site, it's amazing *off to look for cheap Splinter Cell Steam gifts*

If you don't like exploration and didn't like the Origins demo chances are high you won't like Legends either. As far as I can tell so far there is only one music level per world, which amounts to six music levels.

I haven't played the demo for either of the Rayman games, but the first world of Origins was a boring snoozefest for the most part, and I imagine the demo was mostly that. The later levels of the game really ramped up the difficulty, and the instant respawns + checkpointing made for a game that felt a lot like Super Meat Boy as you got deeper into the campaign. SMB has more difficult levels for sure, but Origins isn't by any means an easy platformer. The exploration element mostly comes down to replaying levels to get as many Lums as possible, which is sort of like collecting all the bandages in Super Meat Boy. I think Progress is occasionally gated by earning enough high marks on levels, but I don't recall a lot of replaying being required to finish the main game. I dit it a lot because it was a lot of fun to me personally, however.

As for Legends, it's an easier game than Origins from what I've heard to date. I'll have to judge for myself once I play it, though.

Thanks guys! I may replay the Origins demo just to get another feel for the gameplay before deciding. May do it on PS3 this time, me not liking it could have had something to do with the fact that everything was too tiny for my liking on the Vita

Ugh. Super lame. Origins was already generally too easy with the only meaningful challenge being Land of Livid Dead. It's the one aspect that needed improving.

2 Levels were hard. The rest was easy.

Legends on the other hand is like this : Campaign being easy. Challenge Levels (Speedruns etc) being hard.

Got the Wii U version early (yay broken street dates).

About the Rayman Origins levels: they aren't just straight remakes, they're updated to have more teensies and lums like regular Legends levels. There may also be level design differences, but I haven't really compared the levels directly. I definitely recognize certain parts in levels though.

Personally, I'm kinda pissed that today is the last day I will get to use the Challenges App, but, being in north america, I won't be able to buy the game until the 3rd.

That sucks.

Ah thanks for that.
I just dont understand...why they send vita copies to reviewers if they dont want the original version to be seen as the final product...?
Plus couldnt they just add the "polish" as an update?

Maybe they found some game breaking bug.

Nothing yesterday and today ( ubisoft turned on the servers i presume ) i had a popup in game (like when you won cups in the challenges app) telling me my status was now transfered in Legends !

Are the challenges in the Challenges App on Wii U still available to play once the full game has released?

I got the PS3 version. It's SO GOOD.
It plays so smooth and the way they handled touch levels on PC360PS3 is fine for me. I just play a looot better by myself and I have a lot more fun. I like it way better than Origins.

What on earth? How is the game based on co-op? I played Rayman Origins on co-op for about an hour and didn't like it at all. I don't like any platformers on co-op. It feels like my performance is being hampered. I played Origins all the way through by myself on Vita and it was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

THAT's what I'm getting it on Vita.

My PS3 version has shipped. yay !

I completely forgot about this game until a few days ago and I'm on vacation the day I should receive it. EVERYTHING IS GOING DOWN PERFECTLY.

I went in almost blind and I really can't believe (yet) that it's better than Origins which was totally awesome. Castle of Illusions this week, then Rayman then Pupeteer the week after. It's fucking Chrismas.

Got it preordered for 25 bucks and got Rayman origins for free. A pretty good deal if you ask me.
Just one more day.

One small change for the OP. Kung Foot is 6 players and you can invite online friends but I haven't tried playing with online friends yet, probably because the game isn't released yet.

It's a blast with some friends on the couch though.

Shame about the delay for the Vita version, can't believe they didn't know about the issue earlier than the announcement today.
Wanted something to tied me over til GTA V and would of been perfect on the Vita, but now that the new release date is only a few days prior to GTA V release there's no point in getting that version now.
Cancelled that order and changed it to the PS3 and it has already been dispatched by Simply Games.

Thanks, will change that when coming home. Only tested with two so far.

Few correction of details.

I am 5 hours in now, it's definitely a superior game compared to Rayman Origins (which was already in my 2011 Top 5 games). A single complaint thus far : The earliest levels of each worlds are a tad too easy. But the challenge remains with the later levels and the Invaded levels. A good balance in a way, it offers something for the more casual while still having some though meat for the core players (à la "Land of the living dead").
