That's absolutely untrue. The GC version had a very rough look and some rather bothersome flaws found throughout. Easily among the worst games on the GC in regards to image quality...

The GC looks a whole lot better than the PS2 version, I'm not denying that, but the GC version had shit image quality.

Everything else was top notch, though.

I don't see any reason why the Nbots shouldn't have a field day with this. They spend all their time defending their 'inferior' console and handheld. Now they have the upper hand let them shout about it all they want. After E3 they might not have much to shout about anymore.

The next generation is here, so what happens at the tail end of this gen hardly makes a difference. I mean, who cares if one old platform is more powerful than another? They've both lived their lives and both kick ass.

I'm sorry if I'm retreading a previous post in this thread, but after watching G4TechTV's pre-E3 show last night showing running footage of PS2 version of RE4, there really isn't a noticeable difference in appearance of the game versus the GC version. It looked a lot better than the screen shots that showed up in the first page of this thread. So maybe you can nitpick things if you take screenshots but in motion I really don't see a noticeable difference. So if you only own a PS2, don't pass on RE4 thinking it's somehow inferior to the GC version. Have fun with RE4, whether you play it on the PS2 or GC.

Silkworm kind of stole my thunder but, the R4 footage on G4 last night looked alot better than the screenshots in this thread. Probably some shitty cpatures in the screenshots. But the game in motion looked very similiar to the GC version. I would say that if someone had told me it was the GC version, I would not have known the difference.

Before you say anything more, watch it in motion. It is really hard to see which version you watch. I am sure that some of you haters would fail in a pepsi test!

I haven't even seen the GC version in motion so for me I don't care how it looks on gc, I just want a good game that plays well on my PS2, and this seem to do that.

Heh I also saw the video on G4 yesterday. After reading this thread before the video I thought everyone thought it was going to suck "because of the way it looks". It looks great and people say RE4 has awesome gameplay. Looks like i'm sold for sure... just have to wait until November.

Now I want to know what the extras are and such.

I just saw the video, I agree the screens dont do it any justice, looks just as good as the GC version.

I saw the video last night as well, it's the same fucking game. Maybe the lighting isn't as special in parts, but once again, the differences this gen are nothing to write home about. Capcom will make some money and recover some of what they lost by making the horrible decision to go GC exclusive to begin with. Then again, maybe the PS crowd's interest in the series has declined after the weak spin off games they've been tossing their way.

looks alright. Definately inferior to the GC version, especially in teh lighting. Overall, kinda rough looking and Not up there with the top of the PS2 graphics (MGS3, Wanda, God of war, ect...), but not as terrible as some people's reactions make it out to be. By the time this comes out though, RE4 for GC will probably be like $20 though.
