its more about censoring a game you already own just like thisAm I missing something or is the outrage really about nudity and after-death dismemberment is a Police Sim game?
The "Boldly resist all forms of vulgarity censorship" program they install in people starting around 1980 looks puzzling once you break out of it. It's literally so this small developer can sell their game in countries that democratically voted for content restrictions in media products.its more about censoring a game you already own just like this

Does anyone really think they're doing it for no reason or just to be prudes?
"I'm mature enough to look at tits and these nazis took them out of my police sim game just so they can continue to generate income for their stupid company"
I just wish gamers jumped into action this resoundingly when they started censoring certain types of speech. I guess tits and gratuitous gore is a bridge too far.
Laziness? A second sku just so you guys can see that virtual tit and blow the limbs off already dead bodies? In a game where the goal is to try and not kill people?the top line of your post is it and the fact that the dev does not want to make 2 skus do to laziness.

Dude you were in people's faces for merely saying it's looking rough lol. At least that's how I remember it.
Lol, don't let him fool you. He even lied about buying the game and giving it a spinNot really but that's okay
Not really but that's okay
Gives me an excuse to go check it out again lol.Lol, don't let him fool you. He even lied about buying the game and giving it a spin
This guy was banned for a reason
You can read all about it in the Mindseye OT
As many of you know, Ready or Not will be toning several things down due to demands by the console publisher. In this video we're discussing that, the change that applies to the gore side of the game, and what it may mean beyond that.
Another victim of Valve's continued disregard for governmental age ratings.
If they were required to go through ESRB before posting on Steam US region then this entire debacle wouldn't have happened.
I don't like the censoring, but, as the comparisons show, it is not so huge and is not a major concern for me.Devs released a statement (shows before and after pics)....it's not good. They basically said "we understand your concerns but it's not that bad guys look!"

Laughable effort. Tone deaf. Minimal work for quick cash grab from console players. I hope the console version sells poorly.Devs released a statement (shows before and after pics)....it's not good. They basically said "we understand your concerns but it's not that bad guys look!"

Potentially, its will looked at by a human as its past the automatic threshold. But iv had two games refunded outside of these requirements due to major changes on steam that where far outside of these time periods (one was a complete change from early access to launch)Is it possible to get a refund after so long?
My guess is that nudity is only permitted by certain rating boards / content regulators when the character made the choice to be naked. That's why Mass Effect can have a sex scene with nudity over 20 years ago or whatever and that's fine, but opening a truck and finding naked sex trafficking victims is different. Again, that's only a guess, but I'm betting I'm right. This is quite honestly the weirdest situation I've heard of considering what else is available on other systems
None of this makes sense.
Aye, thinking about it, you've got a pointMy guess is that nudity is only permitted by certain rating boards / content regulators when the character made the choice to be naked. I didn't actually notice most of the content they're cutting out - I either haven't played it enough to get to some of those scenes or I wasn't very observant.don't care about the changes, but more like how it was done. Characters already look weird, that child in bed didn't look great, but now it looks even more like some lowpoly model from 10 years ago.
same with the hostages in underwear. looks like some default underwear texture that comes with unreal or something like that.
I like how the pictures of minors were removed and an anime picture was added lol

Might be worth requesting a refund as a protest.Too bad I already have 40 hours in the game or else I would've asked for a refund.
I'm not that observant so most of these changes I probably wouldn't even notice, but it's the principle that I don't like.
Should've at least make the effort to keep the PC version unsanitized. It's a lot of work because it needs to be 2 different builds? Well too bad, the money they'll make from consoles more than will make up for it.
devs need to stop catering to console platform holders.
just say you won't release it unless it can release uncensored, and if they say no, go public about it.
the backlash will make them let you keep it as is.
and it's not like the game needs the console sales. most devs sell the majority on PC now... the consoles are the ones that need games, not the other way around anymore.
You won't get a refund, but feel free to drop a neg. reviewI've just submitted a refund request, although I doubt it will be approved since the game has been in my library for nearly five years. With any luck at least the devs will see that people want their money back.
Anyone had any luck getting a refund based on the censorship issue?
I didn't actually notice most of the content they're cutting out - I either haven't played it enough to get to some of those scenes or I wasn't very observant.
It's a matter of principle to request a refund, though. This is like if Capcom decided to censor everyone's original copies of Dead Rising to reflect the pussification of the remaster. I voted with my wallet and didn't buy the remaster, just like I would never have bought Ready or Not if I knew they were going to tone it down at a later date.
All I got was an auto-generated refusal saying "We are unable to refund this purchase to your Steam Wallet at this time. Your playtime of an included product exceeds 2 hours (our refund policy maximum)."As someone who doesn't support censorship, that's been a worry of mine - that devs can go in after purchase and censor a game. This should not become a precedent and I hope yours and other refund requests are granted.
Lol, you dont get to refund steam games after years of purchase and dozen hours played. Their policy is crystal clear.
