Real-Life Silent Hill/Resident Evil

Tonight me and my friends snuck into an abandoned hospital through a broken window. Now this place has been closed for a year or two, so inside it's trashed. JUST like Resident Evil, some of the sinks are rusted and dirty. Soot on the ground. Clocks on the ground. Signs on the floor.

Every room was different. A room with a haunting picture of a girl in it, a room with hundreds of stacked chairs, supply room with an empty bottle (hmm, I wonder what I put in this, and why!), a fricken surgery room with those movable plate like lights still there, a room that looks like it's covered in blood (it was really iodine) and trashed room after trashed room.

I swear to god I was living Resident Evil minus zombies (though cops were a concern, none were around at the time).

There's old places like that around my college town, but if you park anywhere near or are seen walking around in there you'll get a trespassing ticket.

I guess I can get away with it, though, because I'm a photographer.

Seriously, that's nothing.

I used to live by this mental hospital that was in serious disrepair. When my mother's car was shot and my dad was at work, my mother would send me to the store for this or that and I'd take a shortcut through there if it was getting dark so I could make it to the store and back before it got too dark.

There were rusted beds, desks, sinks, stacks of stuff under rotten cloth tarps, etc, surrounding the single story buildings. All around the general area were these thin sickly trees that made it seem like a forest out in the middle of no where because they were so densely packed. (We lived out of city limits but not really far beyond it)

To top it off, walking through there you could hear moans and crying from a lot of the mental patients and for extra ambiance, you could hear a train horn off in the distance which for some reason would creep me out even when I was at home. Occasionally, you'd see one or two walking around unattended as well.

This is all true too. Now that I'm older, I really wonder the legality of that place, considering how rotten everything looked. If you walked past it, you'd think it was condemned or something.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
You suck big fat ass for not taking and posting pics.

Rushmore: I'm sorely disappointed by the lack of Schwartzman in your avatar.

Also, if I was a photographer, I would do so many albums in mental hospitals. The amount of material is phenomenal.

Didn't even think of taking a camera. It's in the middle of a residential area, so the flash will attract some. Still, I'll try if I do it again.

I used to do a lot of urban exploration back in PA, but nobody here in WA does it. I don't think there's enough old abandoned buildings. There's seriously next to NO scene here.

I've been in 2 abandoned mental hospitals, 1 abandoned regular hospital, 1 abandoned monastary, a chemical plant, some sort of building used for dam control/irrigation, about a billion mines and mine breakers and lots of miscellaneous stuff. And an abandoned amusement park, but that really doesn't count -- it was before I was into exploring. I just happened to hang out there. Good times. Never got caught. Wish I could still do it. Fascinating stuff.
