300 bars and runnin was so much better than it had any right to be

Hip hop albums better than TLOP released this year:
Atrocity Exhibition
We got it from Here... Thank You 4 Your service
untitled unmastered.
The Impossible Kid
Bottomless Pit
Imperial
Honor Killed the Samurai
Kanye is incredibly overrated these days
Who would you pick as a pure rapper though? Fuck I've no idea...
Eminem has to be up there, his songs aren't always all that but the guy can spit. Biggie...
Yeezus is his best.Kanye is an incredibly average "rapper".
And as a fan of Kanye's music, he hasn't release a great album since MBDTF.
See, it isn't.Yeezus is his best.
See, it isn't.
Only blind Kanye fans would think this. They think he can do no wrong and that each album is better than the next.
Notorious BIG was.
End. Of. Discussion.
Only a close minded person would think this.See, it isn't.
Only blind Kanye fans would think this. They think he can do no wrong and that each album is better than the next. Everyone is wrong and Yeezus is actually his best. Doesn't that sound iffy to you?
Sorry, this that was kinda a shit thing to say, you're entitled to that.
No, it's barely below Reasonable Doubt in quality, if it came out prior to the Black Album or The Blueprint people would be whining about Jay's lyricism and pop choices on those two albums, it isn't given credit because of when it came out so people want to diminish it like you just did.absolutely agreed, i'm just saying it's considered a standout effort by post black album standards. it's head & shoulders above what came immediately before & after
which isn't uncommon with a body of work that large either, granted. everyone falls off, and i think if we're being honest most heads try to point out when we're highlighting a good (but not great) album how much it shines when we're looking at a point in an MC's career well past their best work.
Nas's rapping and song writing is infinetly better on Untitled compared to Life Is Good.I agree with a lot of this. How many people honestly listened to PE after the It Takes a Nation/Fear of a Black Planet era?
Tribe's weakest album is Beats & Rhymes, but I would still think they have a GOAT worthy discography, including their latest album.
Can't really speak on Pac, never was a huge fan of him. A lot of his production choices turned me off of him.
Jay Z album wise fell the fuck off post Black Album. American Gangster is great, but what the fuck was Magna Carter, Kingdom Come and that weedplate Blueprint 3?!?!
Nas is my favorite rapper ever, I own all of his albums. But I would be lying if I were to say Street's Disciple, Hip Hop is Dead, and Untitled were damn near forgettable outside of a few tracks. Life is Good on the other hand was Nas back to form and I hope we get more of that direction his next album.
lmaoOnly a close minded person would think this.
You do know that plenty of people consider Yeezus to be his best or tied for his best while considering TLOP and Graduation poor/weak right?
Yeezus had love from large groups of people and critical acclaim.
lmao
Kanye's best are TCD and MBDTF.
History will remember those albums. They sure as shit won't remember Yeezus.
If the title of this thread was "best rap artist of all time" then this thread would be very different for sure.
Uhh, not for me.If the title of this thread was "best rap artist of all time" then this thread would be very different for sure.
Jay - 3 great albums and a whole lot of trash
Nas - Lmao have you listened to half of his albums?
UGK - Loads of great albums but nothing on Kanye's best
Pac - I'm crying
Tribe - There's an argument to made here for sure
PE - Not even close
There are so many terrible albums from the artists you just listed it's not even funny. Kanye's worst album defined an entire generation of hip hop.
Try again.
All Eyez on Me, aka: Pac repeats that he's a thug in a boring fashion a million times the albumTrash post, go listen to All Eyez on Me. It's a masterpiece.
It would be, Kanye is undoubtedly in the conversation for greatest Hip Hop artist.
