Rebs Gaming: Halo Studios just hired their new Creative Director (JJ Williams), may indicate a large scale multiplayer Halo game is coming

According to Rebs Gaming: Last September Halo Studios listed a Creative Director role, and they finally just hired John "JJ" Williams to be their new Creative Director.

Previously JJ was the Principal Designer for Apex Legends and Associate Creative Director for Call of Duty Warzone for several years.

Since their experience includes leading the creative vision and design for two of the top battle royale games, this could indicate Halo Studios hired him to help lead the creative vision for a new large scale multiplayer-only Halo game is coming.

Rebs previously revealed Project Ekur, which first started as Halo Infinite's canceled Project Tatanka battle royale mode at 343 Industries and was rebranded into Ekur by Certain Affinity. They also reported there have been constant updates to Ekur in the Halo API. So if this project exists, maybe JJ will help lead the creative vision for it post launch and other new Halo projects.

A studio named Halo Studio might making a multiplayer Halo game with large scale maps (has it always had). I'm floored.

Seriously tho, it feels a bit late to integrate a BR/Tarkov mode into Halo, the rush will have ended for a decade+ by the time they release anything.

I wish they'd focus on making a solid "standard" Halo game first. Have a nice single player campaign with Master Chief and some solid multiplayer modes (Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, etc.) Like Halo 1 had. If they can get that down, then maybe they can think about some live service Halo bullshittery. But it's fucking pointless to plan big retarded things for this IP when they can't get a solid Halo game out.

Even on Steam people are still playing Halo MP, in 3K number.

They just can't make a good single player campaign, they might just release the MP first and SP years from then.

I've got to ask - is anyone really asking for a new Halo game at this point?
I loved Bungie Halo, and thought H5 Warzone was a blast.

But, no, I think it's going to take something truly amazing to get people interested after 343 half assed Infinite. The talent seems to be there, but the terrible attempt at a live service game tells us where their heads are.

Yes.

Not an MP guy but I really liked Infinite's open approach to campaign.
Aside from the bullet sponge Brute bosses, the story that went no where, and complete failure to acknowledge whatever happened after H5, I agree.

I had an absolute blast playing the game, but the campaign went no where.

Story etc left a lot to be desired, but damn if it wasn't a fun game to play.

Tight mechanics and controls.

I would kill for a proper multiplayer Halo. It's one of the most joyful multiplayer games with fantastic weapons diversity, vehicle play and maps thrill. There really isn't anything like it today, what the best Halo 2 and Halo 3 matches were.

Sad what the once great Halo has become.

On old shows, like westerns, like super hero shows, they are about men. Specifically one man. John Wayne or Clint Eastwood or some other hero. The whole show exists to promote them. Perhaps you know another show/comic/game like this. You do. Batman. Batman is only about Batman and figuring out cool ways to promote Batman. Showing you why Batman is all. Batman is everything. Batman is so badass even his villians are badass. It's not really a show with a story but mental satisfaction about how cool a character is. Kakarot. John Wayne. John Wick. Jack Bauer. Batman. Billy Jack. Bruce Lee. Chuck Norris.

Microsoft had that with Master Chief.

DEI, Wokeism, the need to diversify, whatever you want to call it made them lose that obvious thing and now Halo forever sucks. Fuck it, it's true.

I don't think Halo Infinite has any female characters apart from The Weapon (Cortana replacement) and the Harbinger (end boss). You would struggle to make the story any more barebones.

This is youtuber level revisionism formulated for tedious bias confirmation purposes. Halo: CE was about the Chief; Halo 2 was about the Arbiter; Halo 3 was about Cortana.

But later, 343i just completely fucked up with the basic storylines and disappeared up their own arses with it.

Another decade, Another Halo game with shit gameplay that everybody claims is "the best in the series" while they grasp at straws for reasons that they don't want to PLAY the GAME.

With another watered down story featuring the trademark kiki wolfkill cutscene which Chief talks about his feelings and admits he is a flawed broken man. Cueing the reddit posts "I didn't like Halo 9's story, but can we all agree that this cutscene was InCrEdIbLe????"

I really just want to see this engine at play and what it looks like having such a large amount of enemies and just overall chaos on screen at once.

not that ill get it , because i dont believe in 343i but im a curious how unreal handles 30-50 enemies, plus vehicles in a big to decent sized map at once.
