Hope the new director likes making single player games set in the Marathon universe because that's what everyone wants to play
This is the thing I just don't get about the new Marathon: it doesn't resemble the original series in the slightest, so why bother reusing the name? I don't see people who recognise the original going for the type of game they're making, and doing this kind of thing has backfired before.
Now, a single player fps with a hard sci-fi edge would have fitted the Marathon name more. Even an action RPG would have fit more than what we're getting. Instead it feels like they've played a game of trying to guess the new GAAS hotness, and slapped a name with a little prior recognition on to it to try to drum up hype.
