EDIT: Not considered RPG's, but also check Arkane Software games. Dishonored and Prey. Their design ethos is giving player as much choice as possible in role play scenarios. They excel at it (but no level up, or turn based systems)

I'm playing Dragon Quest XI right now, and it's fantastic. It's my first DQ game despite having been interested in the series for years and having a bunch of them in my backlog. I don't know why I kept putting it off, but I'm glad I finally dove in. Such a fun (and gorgeous) game.

Like a Dragon is the turn-based JRPG one and is the only one I've played. It's a new cast from the other games and is a stand-alone experience.

I have no interest in the others, but I'll get Like a Dragon 2 day one.

Yakuza 0. It's pretty much the first game in the series chronologically and frankly is the best as of right now
