I just started binge listening to Godier like a couple of weeks ago, sometimes for falling asleep as he has a soothing voice but I'll re-listen to him again the next day to see what I've missed and it's reignited my interest in space and alien stuff.

There's a whole lot of mind-reading going on and the claims are not falsifiable. But the narrator creates a strong narrative, and he's a great writer and presenter.

Edit: At 27:23: "William remains silent. A patient shark who knows that the diver's cage can only last for so long."

I can't tell if this is ironic, sincere, or both. Whatever it is, it's so good.

Subscribed and watched a couple other videos. Ok, so I have come to conclusion that this guy is sincere, and this is just wild, deep analysis. Super interesting.

Yeah he's sincere but he sure has his way of dramatizing his vids, does a lot for it's entertainment aspect, which I guess (at least a real possibility) he does to gain viewers.

Most of these breakdowns are with celebs etc which are ofcourse more interesting if you want to reach more eyes. And that's fine, just like me explaining the same thing twice lol

I skim-read that article. Seems to me they're codifying in a journal what most people understand instinctively but which I don't. That's why the videos were so interesting to me.

PS, they should give an honorary doctorate to the YouTube guy for his outstanding contributions to the science.
