I think someone said somewhere that they were having to remodel/move the studio, and that's why they aren't reviewing in the normal space. I dunno
Looking at the timing, I'd say that they knew in advance they were going to be losing their studio space, and they didn't have a new space yet, so they wrote material for off-set shooting. Then they found a new space, and decided to go ahead with the off-set shooting storyline anyways.
The "Plinkett figures them out" storyline ran through April, so they might have been considering getting rid of the entire Plinkett set around that time.
The first off-set episode (the Avengers review) was posted on May 8, and their set teardown/rebuild time lapse video shows they worked on that for three days, from May 9-11.
That means that they still had the original set while they made the first off-set episode, and then they were busy for three days, and then they had their set rebuilt.
Pretty awesome Half in the Bag. I'm still wondering where the hell they are going with this whole "back to the VHS repair shop" storyline. But I guess it doesn't really matter as long as they are talking about movies!
Did you notice how their old space was only just big enough for the Plinkett set, and their new space is much bigger? It's easily big enough to hold a second set. And about halfway through the rebuild, they moved the camera to give us a tighter view. Did they do that because they wanted us to see some things, or because they wanted us to
not see some things?
I'm guessing that they're currently building the new set (presumably the VCR repair shop, whatever that ends up being), and they'll "arrive" when it's ready. I think they intend/intended for the new set to be their new default set, and it was a happy bonus that they were able to find a way to keep the Plinkett set.
