Going to windowed mode (alt-enter) seem to have alleviated that issue for me.Qwomo said:Ughgh why can't I click anything on the menu? Wharughurhg.

Pick the Red Ally team... see guy running around with green text above head so I'm thinking green means Axis and shoot him for negative team kill points.....see another guy this time with red text above his head so I figure this must mean that red is enemy and shoot him for more negative team kill points....there across the map is a guy with no text above his head, so I assume then my team mates all have random colored text above them and the enemies don't, so I kill him for yet even more team kill points.
Am I missing something here? Is the only way to tell enemies by the clothes? That will take some serious re-training of my reflexes.

I really didn't think they'd go that far in a game like this. Like this game isn't punishing enough to newbies.

Ya I can't wait!Flunkie said:Holy shit this is amazing. So refreshing. Mechanics work like a dream. Once there's more teamwork and the noobs are scared away it's going to be a very smooth game.

Nah, fixed it by deleting the config directory. After fully uninstalling/reinstalling everything. :/sflufan said:Maybe revalidate the Steam cache files to see if that helps?
LMFAO. That is actually so cool.speedpop said:I was playing around with a few of the AusGAF crew yesterday and there was one moment that enforced the thought that this game was brilliant, albeit with shortcomings.
Countdown mode. Us Russians are trying to defend the most ridiculous of places with barely any cover. Half of us are on our bellies in the snow, the other half are on their backs with their guts spilling out. I'm waiting on a small slope to try and give me a height advantage, I know there are two of my comrades further to my left somewhere. It is stupidly quiet for a battlefield but I see some Germans quickly moving about, most of them crouched and glimpses of a small helmet here, a hand there. There was about a minute or two where there was absolute silence outside of small movement sounds. My character is breathing heavily, I haven't moved a single muscle, and I hear one of my comrades silently utter, "..I'm scared."
It added so much atmosphere to the game.
this cod type stuff is really a drag for me,... like this game really needs this stuff :/PedroLumpy said:Man have you seen the class progression stuff? It's way worse than I thought

I've turned down (from max):
- Detail Mode
- Character Detail
- Shadow Quality
- Foliage Quality (to Medium)
- Unchecked Bloom and Ambient Occlusion
Getting mostly 60FPS but it still chugs when it gets busy...gaming at 1080p...i5 2500k @ 4.7 GHz, Radeon HD 6970 CrossFireX.
My guess is I will have to turn off/down that AA.
EDIT: shoot...and just realized my GFX card OC did not apply at my last reboot (880 MHz to 950 MHz GPU clock and 1375 MHz to 1450 MHz memory clock) - so that'll eek out a few more frames.
Have you tried running the UE3 redist? Somehow improved performance for me (X965, 5850).sk3tch said:Does anyone have any tips for increasing FPS while not sacrificing too much image quality? My settings are here: http://i56.tinypic.com/lw18n.png.
Remember that it's a beta, most likely played by seasoned vets. From what I understand the single player portion will be tweaked bot matches so it'll work as a tutorial on how to play the game.Spookie said:Initial thoughts from someone who normally doesn't really enjoy HC shooters because they are badly shoehorned into CoD/BF:

Play on relaxed realism settings, you'll get a small peek at the location of your killer (at the time he killed you - he might be long gone though).Gav47 said:Huh, guess I should refresh before replying to a thread.
Anyway, this game is kinda frustrating. Being killed and not know who killed you and where from is confusing. I'd also like some sort of hit marker so I don't have to look to the right hand corner to find out if I killed someone or not. A tutorial would have been nice as well, took me a hour of game time before I realised there were objectives to complete, I thought it was just TDM -_-
It seems to be pretty scalable but I can't tell you how it'll run exactly on your machine.MrOogieBoogie said:Goddammit, GAF, how scalable is this game?!

I was hoping my i5-760 @4ghz and 580gtx would be enough to max out this game but apparently not. I had to turn off SSAO, turn down shadows to high and I'm getting 45-60 FPS... Definitely disappointing with this.
On the plus side I have a feel for the game now and I'm loving it. So intense.

Varna said:Hm. I really doubt this game really utilizes that extra CPU power. I have the superclocked evga 580 as well so It also has a little extra added juice as well.
Maybe at launch things will look better...![]()
