Um. Atlus makes more than the Shin Megami Tensei series. And Persona, while super popular, is only a small part of the entire Shin Megami Tensei franchise.PBalfredo said:To those saying Mother + Atlus, I have to ask why? Is it because Persona is the only other RPG with a modern day setting in recent memory? Pairing the makers of a randomly generated dungeon crawler / dating sim seems like an ill match for an old school style RPG like the Mother series.
If I had to choose who to give Mother to, I'd go with Mistwalker. Specifically the Blue Dragon team. Both series already taste like Dragon Quest, so they got that in common. Also the way Blue Dragon handles their graphics is just the way I'd imagine Mother going into 3D. Both series have simple but rich and colorful environments with an emphasis on art design over over-detailing. The smooth rounded surfaces that Blue Dragon provides would be perfect for making the hypothetical Mother game look like EarthBound's clay models come to life. Of course Itoi would be in charge because Itoi is Mother.

What the fuck.Sloane said:Zelda -> Rockstar or Bethesda
Metroid -> Bungie
Well, I was incredibly bored by the last few Zelda games. I felt like I had solved every single puzzle and played every dungeon at least a dozen times before. To get me interested in Zelda again, the franchise needs a huge shake-up -- and I think a more open world and game structure might provide that. So Rockstar or Bethesda felt like the logical choice.pakkit said:What the fuck.

One of the things that sets Earthbound apart is its great script. Why would you want to take that away?TalonsOfJustice said:Mother (Earthbound) by Kojima Productions

I would totally have them make a sequel to Disaster: Day of Crisis though.
Cinematic feel? Check.
Cheesy characters/plot/dialogue? Check.
Terrorist/military enemies? Check.
boss fight? Check.Metal Gear
The game was ruined by the development hell it went into, and by the horrible (HORRIBLE) marketing by Nintendo (the game was coming out and no one knew what it was about, or even if it was still being in production). A hypothetical sequel developed by a better team with decent budget and half-decent marketing would give much better results if you ask me.
I've never been convinced of F5's ability to make a great follow-up to Pilotwings 64. Why not Paradigm Studios again? They might be the only developer to capture the aesthetic and feel of the second game.Shiggy said:Pilotwings - Factor 5![]()

Now THAT would be great. Forget the "popular" franchises. Bring back a classic. If Punch-Out deserved a re-imagining, so does StarTropics. And, after seeing what WayForward's done with the likes of A Boy and His Blob, I'm confident they could handle a new Mike Jones adventure.Eteric Rice said:WAYFORWARD! GET THEM TO DO STAR TROPICS!
my mistake, Square Enix = Fire EmblemAzureJericho said:WTFisthisshit.jpg
Nothing against Square-Enix or you, but what exactly makes you believe that they can handle the hybrid action adventure & puzzle platforming elements of StarTropics?

Yeah, I bought it thanks to GAF's small fan base for it and was left pretty underwhelmed. Talk about a wasted opportunity.Dascu said:Disaster: DoC could've been the hardcore Wii IP Nintendo needs this gen. Could've been their answer to Metal Gear Solid, or even Uncharted (the Uncharted 2 sequence with the helicopter, shootouts and crumbling building are terribly similar to those in Disaster). Instead it's an unpolished, ugly arcade action/shooter game that utterly bombed due to Nintendo's mismanagement. They really fucked that one up.

Don't tell me. The one trailer they released right before the game came out pumped me enough to make me start the official thread. Also, the music in the video was so good.Gagaman said:Yeah, I bought it thanks to GAF's small fan base for it and was left pretty underwhelmed. Talk about a wasted opportunity.
Yup. Too bad we all know this is not going to happen.SpacePirate Ridley said:But it was awesomely fun. Never repetitive or boring.
Although a better expansion o0f the idea, with better budget could be incredible.

In general I'd say that a studio doing a Game X at one time doesn't necessarily mean they're the go-to people for it 15 years later. However, a bigger problem: after bouncing around a few owners over the last decade or so, they apparently shut down last year.evilromero said:I've never been convinced of F5's ability to make a great follow-up to Pilotwings 64. MadOdorMachine said:My fear with Kid Icarus is that it would be a Zelda clone. I admit I never played the original for more than a few minutes, but the series doesn't seem to have much to build on imo. Running around in a 3D world shooting a bow & arrow would be hard to get right.
