Before it became the Teenage girl targeted network we know it today, Disney's FreeForm was once known as Fox Family Channel, an all ages cable channel owned by Fox's "Fox Family Worldwide" division, which also owned Fox Kids Network and Saban Entertainment at the time. Save for Fox Kids, it was the closest thing Fox had to a Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network rival.

Growing up, I actually watched quite a bit of it in it's last years before Disney took over. However, I don't remember too much about its programming, and for good reason. Much of the children's programming Fox Family aired was either Fox Kids reruns, mediocre Canadian imports, shows Saban produced, or at worst, complete garbage like Mega Babies. Here's a sampling of some of their past shows

As most of us know, Fox Family Worldwide was sold to Disney in 2001, and Disney slowly began turning it into the edgier Disney channel we know now. And Just a 2 weeks ago, Disney completed its acquistion of 20th Century Fox and all its properties, leaving Fox's News, Sports, and Broadcasting assets to be re-incorporated as "Fox Corporation". Now Disney owns the entirety of Rupert Murdoch's entertainment empire. So what are you impressions of Fox Family?

Used to watch a ton of family fued on there, combs was a funny host

Kids from room 402 are so good. I wonder if they ever got a boxed dvd set like Simpsons or other TV shows.

Fox Kids was a thing, but Fox Family was the cable sibling to it. Sort of like Kids' WB! and Cartoon Network at the time.

Came her to post this. During that run it was pretty much syndicated heaven (or hell) where anything that was being syndicated ended up on that channel.

I remember Megaman, all 3 super mario shows and GI Joe being on Family channel before it became Fox Family and then ABC family when Disney bought it from Fox.

TV was so much better in the 90s and mid-late 2000s, there actually was alternatives for kids to watch if they didn't want to be stuck with only watching cartoons and anime
