Resident Evil 3 remake Jill's VA reportedly "winked" after being asked about being in RE1 REMAKE

She winked therefore someone at reddit thought this is a hint / confirmation of a RE1 Remake.

His other Reddit comments give the impression he's a pleasant but shy person and the people he got an autograph from were being extra nice to the bumbling awkward dude. In the nicest way possible I get the feeling this is less insider knowledge and more Nicole Tompkins just making his day.

Wonder if she will still be cursing all the time. I like the sound of the voice and all, but don't like how she's constantly taunting/yelling at Nemesis in Re3make.

Imagine if they did an RE1 remake with the voice actors from the PSX RE1 and the Gamecube RE1 and you could toggle it in the options.

Voice actors are paid peanuts, it would be a no brainer to add this.

The same demakes that have been making bank, critically acclaimed, and enjoyed by millions? Oh I'm sure they're gonna stop.
They're capitalizing on past successes, knowing that today's "talent," isn't.

This is a real problem. You can't keep "remaking" everything forever. We need new creatives, not rubber-stamped, status-quo-approved ... well, I hate to use the term, but it's actually appropriate here: idiots.

All this being said, I'm still not against a RE1 remake. It still deserves a proper one, which it has yet to receive.

And yes, I hated the original remake. Categorically. Unapologetically. It did almost everything wrong, without going so far as to completely change the genre or something. In terms of tone, it was a total mess. I remember being unbelievably excited to play it, too, back in the day, because those screenshots were gobsmacking. But Capcom was hot off the heels of RE4, and "goofy" was in.

I have absolutely no idea what form a possible RE-re-remake will take, but here I am waiting with morbid curiosity to find out.

It would be awesome/hilarious if it was a fixed-angles game with the over-the-shoulder aiming the RE4 prototype had. I know that's a "no," but still.

Will love playing this when it eventually comes out! I'll do a 1 remake, 2 remake, 3 remake then 4 remake play through all on hardcore 😍

All we need is a remaster of the remake. Don't do anything rise to it. Just make it look updated visually.

If the quality of the Remakes are good, and they're also still putting out new games, then I don't see the problem. I just want good games.

The Best Resident Evil of them all.

And I'm talking about the Nintendo DS version, with the amazing music, not the PS1 original.

I guess that's fair. It's not like I don't enjoy a good remake - or even the occasional complete reimagining. My problem is when it comes from a place of being cynical and money-grubbing, rather than showing love and honor for that which has come before. That's more a Hollywood problem than a games-industry problem, but I do see an awful lot of riding the nostalgia wave and trying to get away with constant, pointless do-overs.

Exhibit A: the new Halo game, rebranded studio and all. Word on the street is they just want to shop this thing as a start-from-the-beginning reset. Why? Because reboots, remakes, and remasters are what they do after they've beaten something into the ground to the point where it's an unrecognizable mess. "Whoops, let's try that again."

But hey, one way or another I'm curious about a possible RE1 Remake. There are so many ways it could go, I'd never just dismiss it out of hand.

Dont look at the title, look at the contend of the vid, for all we care it could be named "grandma's panties" as long as it shows us what Remake could look like potentially/maxed out.
You couldn't just use your imagination? It'd look like a game with modern graphics. WooooOOOoooo.

I feel like it doesn't need a remake personally. Should've used the resources on this remake to make a dino crisis remake like people have been asking for or they should've started making a new mega man game and breath of fire game.
I disagree, The HD Remaster is a blurry Upscaled affair.
And while I think it looks fine for what it is I do think having the whole game rendered in-game would benefit the game in the long run.
Does it need changing or expanding...no.
But as long as they either use or have the option for fixed cameras or at least keep it to RE2remake style.
It should fantastic.

It wasn't a wink, you'd close your eye too if a mentally disadvantaged person spat in your eye while talking about "sandwhiches" and asking you to break an NDA
It must make them livid and mildly paranoid to have fans asking them questions that fans know they aren't allowed to discuss.

Completely doesn't. Both iterations of the first instalment are two of the best games ever made. But if they're gonna remake it again, I'm there at the drop of a hat. There can never be too many reasons to visit the Spencer Mansion.

i want to play as all of the following with their own separate campaigns

A playable Wesker scenario for RE1 would actually be kind of genius.

Not too convinced about the need for another Remake of the Original. Except if they perhaps make each campaign more distinctive and maybe add another one with Barry or so and then make each one complement the others instead of just being alternative stories respectively. That would be awesome.
