Okay so I just put in enough coins to open the 10 coin door and I went in and got the cutscene and stuff, did I just screw myself over from getting some extra gun for putting in more coins? Am I going to have to redo the entire chapter?

Sooooooo, unless you're in the top 3 (which is very unlikely) you'll be rewarded with an amount of RE points which is similar to the daily login bonus?
I picked the "auto-upload" option in-game and RE.net updated with all my stats like an hour later. NOW LET ME BUY RETRO SHERRY, CAPCOM. I want to cut zombies with her ultra-sharp polygons!
Thanks, but I reloaded and tried to start the chapter over from scratch, now I have a new problem. Is there a way you can end up getting screwed over and not get one of the ID medals? I think I may have missed one due to sherry killing some enemies in the upper balcony of a room I cant reach, and the last medal may have dropped from one of them...

Call me crazy, but I'm totally loving RE6. Rented it from Redbox last weekend, got up to chapter 2 in Leon's story and immediately knew I had to own it. Picked it up the same day I returned it and have finished Leon's campaign and now I'm halfway through Chris's. I'm totally addicted right now.
Damn, Leons fourth chapter is really great. The first, second and fourth have been the strongest in the entire game by far for me. The catacombs shit was lame, but still better than Chris' and Jakes campaigns.

Finally finished the game. It was overall a pretty enjoyable game. From my perspective, I'd say the campaigns almost got progressively better as you go: Ada > Jake > Leon > Chris. I almost put Chris ahead of Leon just because of Chapter 4 and 5.
I really hated Simmons; I hate his character, his mutations... EVERYTHING. At least while playing Ada, I liked the supportive while you had assisting Leon and Helena in Chapter 5.
Is there a place to get a summary of the plot in the final campaign? I think I'm done with this game, but the complete lack of any real details in the first three campaigns is really frustrating.

Pretty sure that won't happen. I encountered that situation myself a couple times and he didn't drop anything. I actually had a hard time finding the last ID medal, and it turned out it was near the beginning of the level where one guy spawned with it. Try looking there after you've killed everyone else.
I absolutely loved Leon 5, totally above the other two, so much shit going on and a couple of boss fights that are probably betweem the more fun i've ever played, nerdgasm at the boss from the prologue lol

I killed the Lepotisa in like 20 seconds tops. It did release the blue gas ONCE. I was on Amateur. Are you supposed to kill it before it releases the gas even once?
Chris's one is spectacular and story wise it's the one that got me the most, but the fight itself are totally garbage, first form can be killed only using the knife (as i did) you just need to stay under the boss and slash and slash and slash, you can't get hit at all, 5 minutes and you're done...then the second form, pratically no ammos available if you use chris and you can only pray that Piers hits the thing until you have the chance to do something, wich is not fun at all, as i said a couple of days ago, i spent 40 minutes to reach the end of the fight then i got killed, similar thing happened a second time, then i switched to Piers and it got better, still, i was so bored that i just wanted that thing to end
I thought it was odder/funnier when Chris out of the blue says to Jake
"Yo dawg, killed yo pa, it was fo biznez and personal," and Jake's all "Dad's a deadbeat and a madman, fucking hate him, but HOW DAREZ YOU, gunna busta cap in yo azz," and everyone's like "JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!"
Just finished Leon's campaign on Professional (Chapter 1 with Nemesis, Chapters 2-5 with Daigoro). That actually wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, although we did die quite a bit due to QTEs. I still think
Raskaplanje
is the dumbest enemy ever, we just avoided fighting it at all and ran past it constantly. Also got all the emblems in the campaign, so that was pretty cool.
I wonder how much harder the Chris and Jake campaigns are, since enemies shoot at you and those snipers and RPG guys can be pretty annoying, even on Normal.
As far as my favorite campaigns, I'd probably rank them Jake >>> Leon > Chris >>>>>> Ada. I actually enjoyed Chris' second half much more than Leon's second half, and the story arc in Chris' campaign is much better, but I found the vast majority of Chris 4 really annoying; it's just one massive never-ending shooting gallery.
gun shop confrontation. Reminds me so much of Dawn of the Dead movie
.
* Leon Chapter 2, especially the Chapel. Lepotitsa is one great enemy. She completely freaks me out and unnerves me on basic level. I've never been more afraid of being violated by a monster than with Lepotitsa and of course....
* Raskpalanje. Ugh, completely revolting. I have a nervous breakdown everytime I have to
Look for key. I hate that some of the Raskpalanje has a one-hit-kill where they can grab you and immediately forcefed you their gross-looking piece of meat
.
* Leon and Chris' Chapter 4 end of chapter movie.
This is the one where Carla sends a bomb to China and we see first hand how chaos spiralled down there. It's my personal nightmare to see civilians being attacked by zombies like that
. Truly great stuff. More of this kind Biohazard outbreak moment please.
* Chris Chapter 1's rooftop confrontation. Love that part where
You and Piers have to hold off enemies before help arrives
. It was difficult before I mastered the control but now I have, it's so much fun sliding all over the place and gunning the barrel and just do melee against the enemies.
* Chris Chapter 5 final boss and ending. Truly great stuff. I think Chris gets hands down the best character ending story in this game. His story is far more personal than Jake's or Leon's and you can see that it truly affects him.
* Piers Nivan. I love his character and wish that
The ending didn't take
. But oh well, he was badass and actually was one of the few characters who try to remain in control despite the increasingly crazy situations they find themselves in.
* Jake Chapter 2's Silent-Hill inspired mini room. Man, I wish this game is more like that in atmosphere because that room with
the mannequin and doll's head
completely unnerves me.
* Jake's Snowmobile and Motorbike sections. I know many people hate them. But I LOVE THEM. They are fun despite me dying so many times at first. OTOH, Chris' driving section is awful and just not fun at all.
* Jake and Sherry's interaction and just Jake and Sherry themselves. Truly great characters.
*
Ada Wong
. I love how graceful her character is and how calm she is in spite of the situations. Also love her
acrobatics while slinging arrows
.
*
Ada Wong
Chapter 4 final boss. The entire thing was awesome. It really creeps me out and probably the best boss in the entire game.
*
Ada Wong
's support role in Chapter 5. It's nice for once that I just have to support the other characters instead of doing much of the legwork.
For the heck of it, here's how I'd rank the chapters. Using the range of Meh, Eh, Whoo, Whoo!, Yay! and YAY!
Leon chapter 1 - Eh.
I think the second demo level was my favourite here. Otherwise, I just didn't like the all the parts where you are forced to walk, and there's too much scripted stuff and linearity. I like the look of the entire chapter though.
Leon chapter 2 - Yay!
This chapter was great overall. Several explorable areas. Some light puzzling in the cathedral. The labs were fun to go through. The boss fight I wasn't super keen on, but that was fun too. Combat against zombies is a lot better in this chapter than the first one too. Also probably has the most interesting story stuff in Leon campaign.
Leon chapter 3 - Short yay!
I thought this was fun to go through. Reminded me quite a bit of the chapter 3 levels in RE5. Rather short though. Didn't like the boss fight against the water monster that much as it was so scripted.
Leon chapter 4 - Whoo!
Plane part was fun although I wish there were exploring and zombie fighting in it instead of QTEs. Ustanak fight was fun. I didn't find the regenerators that fun to fight, but I like the area you fought them in was explorable. Other parts of the chapter was good too, although I really started getting tired of QTEs.
Leon chapter 5 - Whoo.
Horribly slow start to the chapter. I enjoyed the boss fights although the amount of forms Simmons has is a bit ridiculous, and again, I started to get really tired of QTEs.
Chris chapter 1 - Eh.
Just a really average chapter overall. It's not bad, but there's not really any memorable moments. I think the demo level is the highlight.
Chris chapter 2 - Whoo!
Really generic setting with all the military stuff, but I actually found it pretty fun to play through.
Chris chapter 3 - Eh.
Children's playground is amazing, and the end with the Jeep is silly fun. Hated the entire part with the snake, way way wayyy too linear and scripted and slow. The harbor stuff wasn't bad although I'm not a fan of camera chases. This and forward is where Chris' voice actor really starts to shine.
Chris chapter 4 - Whoo.
Above average chapter. I like that the first level is open, but its level design wasn't that interesting.
Chris chapter 5 - Meh.
First half of the chapter isn't bad, but I hated the boss chase and the fight with the boss.
Jake chapter 1 - Eh.
Seems like a really forgettable chapter. Most I can remember are the annoying rockets in the first level.
Jake chapter 2 - Whoo!
Snow storm area was confusing to begin with but it was fun enough to go through. The light stealthing wasn't great, but it was a fun enough diversion. Snowmobile was silly fun. Jake and Sherry starts to really shine through with their dialogue.
Jake chapter 3 - YAY!
Easily best chapter in the entire game. Stealth section with Sherry might be a bit hard but otherwise it's a really really fun chapter. This is how the entire game should be designed really. I love the exploration bit in the large mansion.
Jake chapter 4 - Yay!
I can't really point out anything special in particular, but this was a fun chapter overall.
Jake chapter 5 - Short yay!
Rather short chapter, but I found it pretty fun. Really glad I didn't have to do anything with the Haos boss.
Overall thoughts should be pretty clear: too much scripted stuff, too linear and too many QTEs. But the story is good overall, voice acting is actually amazing (which is baffling since this is a RE game), cutscenes looks amazing, core combat is really fun and the level design is good when it's good, just too bad they decided to go with a linear approach most of the time. Oh, and of course mercenaries is amazing.
I really liked the moodiness of this level, even the parts where you are forced to walk. I thought the college setting was pretty good, and I REALLY enjoyed the latter part of the level set in the city. It felt like an HD version of RE3 when everything was going to hell all around you. Very memorable.
Leon 2 - 4/5:
I thought this level was well done too, it was more about the atmosphere than anything else since you don't actually fight that many enemies once you get into the church. The crossbow puzzle is kinda dumb, but the Lepotitsa fight was amazing and disgusting.
Leon 3 - 3/5:
I really didn't like the majority of the catacombs section since it's basically just running from platform to platform while infinitely spawning enemies chase you down. I thought the boss fight with the shark was VERY well done, and I felt really disgusted throughout the entire thing; its creature design is really good.
Leon 4 - 4/5:
I thought the plane bit was really well done, but I really didn't enjoy the Raskplanje bit - what an annoying enemy. Everything that came after it was really good though.
Leon 5 - 4/5:
I actually really enjoyed all the boss fights against Simmons, although the T-Rex fight was annoying since he had a few one-shot hits when he threw cars at you. But I thought it was a fun, hectic chapter overall.
Chris 1 - 3/5:
OK chapter. Not bad, not great. It was the first chapter I played in the game, so I was still getting a handle over the combat mechanics.
Chris 2 - 5/5:
I loved this chapter, even though the first part of it was very combat heavy. It was exciting the whole way through, and the final part with the Napad was really hectic and heart pounding.
Chris 3 - 4/5:
Great chapter, with the snake fight being one of the highlights of the game for me. Phenomenal. But the helicopter fights dragged the entire experience down for me.
Chris 4 - 3/5:
The first half of the chapter DRAGGED and the Raskplanje part annoyed me once again, but I really enjoyed the Harrier fight.
Chris 5 - 5/5:
I loved everything about this chapter except the escape scene in the tunnel where you have to reach the doors in time. I thought the boss fights were very fun, and the way the chapter ended was electric.
Jake 1 - 4/5:
I thought it was fun, although it started very abruptly. I really enjoyed the helicopter fight with Ustanak.
Jake 2 - 5/5:
Very fun chapter. Loved the stealth, loved the escape, loved the cabin, loved the snowmobile, and loved the QTE fight with Ustanak at the end. I thought the snowy hill part was the low point but there was nothing offensive about it.
Jake 3 - 6/5:
BY FAR my favorite chapter in the game. I just loved loved loved the environment design. The stark white lab in the beginning was so different and unusual for a Resident Evil game, and the Chinese mansion is easily my favorite environment in the entire game. I hope we get a Mercs map based on this. The tank busting through the wall was COMPLETELY unexpected for me and really threw me for a loop.
Jake 4 - 4/5:
I wasn't the biggest fan of the chainsaw B.O.W. (even though the fights with it were exciting), but I loved the majority of this chapter. I thought the motorcycle was fun.
Jake 5 - 4/5:
Really enjoyed everything about this chapter except the first part with Raskplanje. God I hate that enemy so much. But I think Jake had the best final boss fight in the game, and the way the story ends is really awesome and heart warming.
Ada's campaign - 2/5: Really didn't enjoy this campaign AT ALL. If my experience with this campaign is anything like what reviewers experienced when playing RE6 as a whole, I can kinda understand the terrible scores it got.
This game needs a better design for multiplayer, since it is so essential. For example I would love to search / join solely for campaign intersections.
How many here have replayed the game as the side character? I haven't finished yet, but when I do a replay, I'm really interested in playing through as the side character. It ain't much of a difference gameplay wise etc, but perspective wise it's pretty cool.

I'm playing through the game now on Professional and I played all of Leon's campaign as Helena. It was cool, her moves are different and since I never played as her before I still had to go through and pick up weapons as the campaign went on, so I never felt overpowered for the situation at hand.
Also there are certain scenes where you have to do something different than Leon, so those sections felt new and unique.
When you're going for a ground strike on a downed enemy sometimes yes, otherwise all the coup de gras make you invincible for the duration of the animation. Your partner, or even other enemies can break you out of grappling QTEs though.

So apparently to get the really high scores in Mercenaries you have to save the secret boss that appears and kill him as number 150 in your combo. Also you're supposed to constantly counter enemies at the beginning until things start to get too crazy.
I don't think I'm hardcore enough to bother with all that though lol.
