I received some information from my personal sources/pr agency that the review embargo for Resident Evil Requiem will be lifting on February 25th at 7 AM PST/10 EST.
Game is releasing on the 27th at Midnight.

File size - 72.88 GB
Preload - February 25th
Release - February 27th Midnight (not sure by what time zone though)

I sadly will not be getting an early review copy from Capcom, but most likely a bit before launch time or the day before actual release.
Capcom's PR agency is VERY stingy with giving out codes (Unless you are a well known big shot), but hey at least I pay absolutely nothing for big AAA releases.
However, it is already at hands of many media sites and review YouTubers so watch out for leaks.

My hype levels are at over 9000, this is my most anticipated game this year (Yes, I don't care for GTA 6 as much)

Sorry you didn't get your code. I've got the deluxe edition ready to preload on the 25th. Capcom is making some remarkable looking stuff. They've gone to the Naughty Dog level of crossing that uncanny valley if you ask me. Requiem is one game I'm really looking forward to playing through this year. I'll skip the detailed reviews cause they tend to spoil the good stuff.

I will most likely still get a code, just not early like most. They did the same thing to me a year ago with Monster Hunter Wilds. I got it 2 days earlier, but others had it for a solid week or so lol. It sucks though, cause we lose out on traffic views and not enough time to properly review the product, but hey better than nothing.

Looking forward to this. I love the RE series but had to skip 7 and 8 due to first person I couldn't get on with it. Can't wait to get back into it with the new 3rd person mode.

Pretty sure they added 3rd person in RE8 for post-launch

"A third-person mode was added to
Resident Evil Village (RE8) as part of the Winters' Expansion DLC and the Gold Edition, released on October 28, 2022. It allows players to experience the main story from an over-the-shoulder perspective, similar to the RE2 and RE3 remakes, allowing a full view of protagonist Ethan Winters."

Leaks already dropped.

It took the dude 11 hours first playthrough. Which is slightly above average first time through for an RE game.
Sounds rushed though on his end. I am gonna be taking my sweet ass time exploring it in all of its glory.
Yeah, I believe 7 and Village could be completed in the same amount of time give or take (if you were rushing).

I'm not paying today's game prices to just blow through it, I'm gonna take my sweet ass time, lol.

WTF is "personal sources"?!

Nope, not Dusk Golem. I also have friends who work on some websites and they recieved the codes so they feed me info sometimes. Other times I get my own and post it here for example High On Life 2 was given early to me by the PR agency.

Dusk Golem is only good for RE future titles info. Review Embargo information is easily accessible by most people. Its nothing really secret.

it's pretty funny how much reviewers have to polish Capcom's shaft to get early keys

the usual suspects all got one no doubt

After I beat them I love watching speedruns on the highest difficulties.

Your words

Great leak friend, just a few days late..

I mean, I'm sure they're just delivering them to the same outlets/content creators they have in the past. As long as the Capcom person(s) remain the same person they've been for awhile that have established these relationships nothing will change.

May I suggest avoiding Reddit altogether?

It's a cesspool where chronic underachievers congregate. They are simply not important enough to be as smug as they are.

I get your point. I like to visit gaming communities, sometimes there is interesting conversations but I avoid most mainstream topics there for obvious reasons

By the way, the spoiler I read by accident is absolutely crazy. People will go nuts when they find out about this

Capcom has balls of steel

Can't wait to play the game

do you need me to spell it out why some people get early keys from them and others dont?
You could spell out whatever you want. I've worked in this industry for over 6 years and can tell you right now that what you are about to suggest is completely false because it's obviously that you lack the actual understanding of what goes behind the scenes when it comes to key distribution. But I'll be nice and pass some wisdom for you.

It boils down to your overall reach and traffic and internet credibility. Meaning, the more audience you can pull in from a variety of social media sources the more likely you'll get a review key as opposed to someone else.

Chances are if you are fresh, or new, or not that well known you will not get early keys whether you talk amazing things about someone products or not. I've been at both ends of the spectrum, some PR agencies have different values and requirements than others. As for Capcom, they don't like giving early codes to people unless they meet their criteria.

Meanwhile, when it comes to Blizzard (yes that Blizzard) i have no issues getting early codes or access to alphas/betas. I was in the first wave of WoW Midnight Alpha that started on October 12th, meanwhile everyone else had to wait.

Ubisoft also has a lot less requirements, but in all honesty they really can't afford to be stingy with how bad their reputation is these days, so they do whatever to stay in the "positive" light.

Sony is stingy, but their ego is also in a different place too. Forget about Nintendo, they are the worst of the bunch and never send anything to anyone unless you are IGN or someone of that level.

Anyways, it has nothing to do with playing favorites when it comes to key distrubution. It's what many people think it is and is a myth that is not true and I am telling you this from experience. You can obviously believe whatever you wish cause at the end of the day it doesn't matter lol.

Who Capcom decides to get a code is basically a popularity contest. They don't even give a code to YouTubers that cover their games every single day for years, But than some influencer that just decided to play these games will get one. I was pretty turned off by them when I heard this.

Preordered the deluxe edition a couple months ago on Greenmangaming at a discount, still waiting on the Steam Key but I am so goddamn ready for this
