Resident Evil Requiem | Gamescom Trailer

Capcom has been putting amazing Resident Evil games back to back.

So it is natural people starts complaining about every minute details not tailored to perfection, this is the result of high expectations from a company you KNOW is putting its all behind it.

I think criticism is fair here. They might not be necessarily "putting their all behind it" when they have more than one team working on the series. This looks like the Village team or director has their hands all over it. Village was mid so I think it's fair to be scrutinous or at least voice disappointment knowing that Capcom certainly isn't going to change course.

Completely agree. You have to remember this is the same capcom that somehow botched the release of Monster Hunter and Dragons Dogma. After this trailer, I'm not too optimistic they 'have the goods'. Wouldn't be surprised if this got delayed.

Yeah, good point. Maybe they've been a little "too productive" the past few years. I'm starting to get the quantity vs. quality vibe from their output. It doesn't feel like they're taking any of their IPs seriously because they're doing too many at once.

Maybe it's fucked up to say but I kind of wish someone else had the Resi IP. I don't know who but I think it's clear that Capcom can't really get away from itself when they say they're closing a chapter and starting the next.

Awful showing. Boring and bland character designs, as usual from hyper Western focused modern Capcom. No gameplay shown, the area that Capcom still shines, but at least the graphics look good. Unfortunately, stellar graphics alone do not create an enjoyable player experience. This will probably end up being a skip for me personally. I hope Onimusha: Way of the Sword is atleast decent, but modern Capcom just isn't the same publisher I grew up with, so I won't get my hopes up.

Half agree.

Capcom has been putting out amazing RE games. And this trailer was mediocre.

Both these statements can be true at the same time. The trailer is not likely a representative of the final game, but we're talking about the trailer itself.

That trailer was so ass. The older Resident Evils with the iconic, badass characters and zombies were so much better, and the remakes prove this.

Always prefer Hunters, Tyrants, zombies, lickers, over the plaga, javo, molded, and lycan from the later games. Will most likely be more hyped for a RE1 Remake or CV Remake over RE9. But I did enjoy Village and got a feeling that RE9 would be even better than Village so still looking forward to RE9 a lot.
