Resident Evil Requiem | Gamescom Trailer

At least I was relieved mom was mom. The facial animation was shockingly bad and the whole thing kinda cringe.

Nobody at Capcom looked at this before gamescom and said guys this sucks?

These morons on re subreddit have banned me just because I dared to criticise a fucking company they don't even own. Everyone is a simp nowadays.

I mean look at what they have shown us, nothing but a stupid cutscene without gameplay. And before anyone is jumping on me with this crap "follow mom" bs, that's not actual gameplay for a resident evil game. Even Konami got their shit together, while crapcom treats a videogame as a top secret project to show nothing. Those remakes aren't even that great to begin with, unlike the re1 remake. They are OK and fun, but the uniqueness has been ripped out of them and don't get me started on re3 remake.

Even RE6 has awesome trailers from the get go, straight to the point, but this is just shit.

At least it will have path tracing to see all the cringe in beautiful lights. From the first trailer I have had massive doubts about this game, and this trailer was both a bunch of nothing and terrible. Isn't this supposed to be Capcoms biggest budget fpr a game or something?

For me, RE7 was great until the boat and from there, into village + the rotten DLC and now this, the drop off has been quite steep. Think Capcom is getting too comfortable again.

I wonder what was the thing they thought would get people excited after this; I guess it's true, they're too comfortable so they can drop anything and don't sweat the criticism.

Other than "oh, she's her mom", and "yes, it's still first person", I don't think I had any significant reaction to the trailer. Except of course a general increasing feeling that overall that was dull and with kind of annoying characters in it.

Hopefully the playable demo, at the venue at least, has some fun stuff in it.

I do strongly prefer the days when it wasn't all about scripted cinematic shite you have to suffer through at a fixed pace. It's one of the things I heavily criticised about 3R, I didn't like about 8 or even 7, and will definitely be a part in 9.

As much as I'm fine with this showing little at this time, I know I'm going to be absolutely sick of it allnand never want to see it again after playthrough 2. But only half of it at best will be skippable.

Once upon a time you got cutscenes to give you direction then the game set you free to figure it ouf. You had your unskippable scenes in classic RE as a product of the time, but once those cutscenes were done you were not met with a big objective in your face.

I'm still choosing to remain hopeful about the game as a whole, and I'm not down on this like others, but it is undeniable that what they showcased is a very dumbed down experience and I hope that you can either turn all of that off before you start or they adjust from feedback.

I am choosing to see this as a tutorial/intro section that has been cut down. We've seen equivalent sections elsewhere. If I'm wrong I won't be very active in the OT.

Neither trailer has generated any sort of interest in me so far. But hopefully it's a different feeling when the controller is in hand. Still willing to give the benefit of the doubt after Village.

I feel like the trailer was a bit of a tease. I'm not so familiar with the Ashcrofts. The ending had me wanting more.

My main takeaway is this could be another phenomenal VR game. 1st person and not an open world game by the looks of it.

If you say so. Resident Evil VII was enjoyable, but was far from amazing. Especially after the first quarter or third of it, straight downhill. I started Village, but supernatural nonsense that I really don't like in my RE. I put it down, though one day I do hope to finish it up.

Also don't like first person in my RE, though I do like first person in general. Not the direction I'd like to see the series in particular go.
I was referring to RE4 Remake and REVillage

saw it live and immediately knew how the GAF comments were going to go :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

ahhh, what a mess. The godawful gen Z'ification of everything continues.

I refuse to watch it. Still day one. They haven't let me down yet with the recent RE games. Even if it ends up being a 7.5 to 8 out of ten I know ill enjoy the romp.

The opposite for me, last RE i had real fun with was 5.

7 had a great atmosphere at the beginning but combat and enemy variety were dogshit and i just don't care about this whole mold stuff in a RE game and 8 was just ok with some standout moments.

Also i really hate first person RE :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

And the new protagonists...charisma vacuums.

Not alot was shown here but I do really think they nailed the acting here. The whole mother daughter connection, the emotion and fear grace showed here was pretty authentic.

Its weird as I wouldn't say resi 8 was a 20 out of 10 or anything. More like an 8 for me but I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't stop completing it. Played it so many times over a two week period.

I dont mind the first person but I can see why it would annoy some peeps.

Showing off first look "gameplay" with a bullshit cinematic walk n' talk section is just sad. The fact that some people get excited by this type of showing is even sadder.

Hopefully, Capcom shows a huge chunk of actual gameplay next time instead of bullshit like this.

How is it possible that the girl is using her pc carefree and the next minute the building is sealed off and full of monsters?
The transition looks weird.

Seriously hoping there not a no camera rule at the capcom on stand for this game, the. Hopefully we will get some footage of the demo being played

Underwhelming trailer, probably because they chose to show the start of the game, which is usually a slow burn. I've really enjoyed the past 5 Resident Evil games so I'm sure this will be good.

So, to recap. The main character is a whiny bitch who got her mother killed because she wouldn't shut up and follow simple instructions. Probably could have done without the trailer in my opinion.

Maybe she did it, her facial expressions didn't sell me on her being scared. I don't trust her, she's the survivor too, makes sense.
