Resident Evil Revelaitons |OT| 3D Jill Sandwiches

I was actually quite pleased with the way the inventory worked. I mean, has anybody ever actually enjoyed mixing herbs? Or rotating 3D models of random items?
Ok I did used to enjoyed rotating the items but I can't say I'll miss the old inventory system
Well, yeah, I loved that stuff. RE4 had the best inventory management in the series IMO, and REmake had a lot more exploring items in 3D for additional clues and such. The inventory in this demo seems more appropriate for something like Mercenaries, and they cut out a heck of a lot of potential gameplay by simplifying it so much. It's really surprising, but doesn't kill the game for me. It supports what I've heard about the game being more action focused later on.

It was mentioned earlier that you get an herb if you reach 100%. It's actually a pretty interesting risk/reward mechanic because you'll get a bigger payoff for being more daring. It also gives the opportunity to snag some extra help if you run into trouble.
Ah, I see. I did hit 100% at one point which made a 1 pop up at the top and the percentage counter reset, but I had no idea what it did. Thanks.

I didn't have any problem in OoT 3D with gyro aiming with the 3D on full blast. Granted I used the gyro to assist me a little bit along with the slide pad not as the sole method. I thought it worked very well even with me laying in bed, I could do it without any issues.
I liked the way they did that. Unfortunately, the RE:R demo uses the gyro as the sole aiming input, the slidepad moves/strafes in aim mode.

Yeah the demo did a good job of convincing me to pick this up at some point (not that I wasn't already planning on it but still).

Dude get your eyes checked. I love how the game looks but dithering is pretty noticeable. Look at any dark spot.

I noticed color banding, not dithering.

Edit: gonna have to download the demo again tomorrow. I'm sure I would have noticed it after playing so many dithering laden psp games.

I tried the demo and I think i'll use the gyro. Its a good enough 2nd analogue replacement (a bit too sensitive though). And those zombie things still managed to give me a fright when they dropped down from the ceiling. I was half expecting that to happen having seen the trailers and all, but damn they still got me :(

There's not dithering in the game. You can see some color banding and some quantisation artifacts in the fmv sequences, but dithering is nowhere to be seen.

Once I turned my backlight brightness from 2 to 5 I could see something... not sure what it is exactly but there is a

pattern noticable all over the place, doesn't look like 15 bit dithering though. Maybe they have some sort of 7 bit per channel setup.

Im and Ace Combat newbie, but had always wanted to play a game of the saga. My first Ace Combat was the 3DS one and I couldnt be more happy. One of my favourite games in 3DS, its fucking fantastic and has the best sound and soundtrack of the whole system. The story is epic and fun and the extra missions are making me replay the game a lot, trying to get all the planes and special pieces for them.
Too bad people thought it was going to be shit, I hope at least sells well in Japan to see another 3DS itineration.

I know the extra 3D options have been mentioned in the thread before, but given that I just stumbled on them I simply have to point them out once more. Damn, what a difference it makes! Max 3D gives the world amazing depth and sense of tangibility, crosstalk notwithstanding. Why the hell isn't it on by default? The slider works fine in decreasing it anyway. This game offers the best "virtual window" sense since Pilotwings.

As much as I did enjoy the demo, I'll pass until a price drop. As others have said, the market is too competitive at this point to justify the hike. Polish should be expected, not a premium.

Just downloaded the demo. Damn so fun and tense, definitely old school RE vibes. 2D AA helps the game a lot but I can't live without my 3D. Pretty surprised at how good it looks. It takes 6 bullets to down, or so. Shotguns... takes one at very close range. Item Scanner gives me Metroid Prime vibes. So far so good, had to stop for a while... 3DS was dying. Freaking battery :p

All Capcom's MT Framework Mobile 3DS games have some very slight dithering. Since they all use glow effects, Capcom is probably rendering using 6-bits per channel so they can fit both color and alpha (used as a glow buffer) into 24-bits.

A little disappointed that only characters casts real shadows. Surely they could do something better considering what Silent Hill Origins and Shattered Memories achieved. Also, no in game lip synch? Hope it's just a demo thing.

Other than that, I really liked the demo.
 
How bad is the ghosting for you guys?. At max 3D for me is impressive (minus AA) but I see a huge ghosting on Jill silhouette, the rest is perfect. I tried many angles and stuff, but is not working for me.
 
From what ive been reading in ace combat wikis since i got the 3DS game I would love a good remake of Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere.
Its nuts that the west got a butcherd all over the place game whle the japanese version is said to be one of the best, but seeing that the remake of 2 it bomberd hard :(
But enough offtopic.

That demo was...incredible! A must-buy for me, though, as others have said, i'll wait for the price drop because i don't want to encourage the pricepoint.

I'm now debating whether I should import a JP version a week early even though I've got my US pre order locked in at 39.99.

:) That's why I pre-ordered KH3DS on Amazon now. Just like Revelations was 40 a while ago on Amazon.
 
Anybody else notice that the 3D settings are essentially like overscan settings on a HDTV?
Anything other than very high crops some information out of either side of the frame. So the 3D setting seems to just widen the visible area which by doing so adds further depth to the 3D effect. It's pretty weird they would offer voluntarily cropping the play area as an option, especially with the slider in place.....
