Stuck on the Chapter 6 elevator scene. I'm in the large hall beforehand, but I don't have any herbs and I'm literally one hit away from dying. My ammo isn't looking all that hot either. Any tips?
Thanks, could see weird yesterday, too bad there is no join option from the friendlist. And now that you mentioned it, it does look like a phone number.
That's what I don't like about CPP controls, reaching b takes a wee bit more time to reach, making evasion that much more difficult to time. I tried by just pushing up/down, sometimes it does seem to work but I can't do it consistently.
The story is an absolutely shitty mess, the dialogue and Jill's VA are extremely poor, the enemy designs are disappointing and the combat (specifically lack of feedback, knowing enemies are dead, etc) in combination with the limiting inventory add to the frustration.
I like the enemies . There is also very noticeable feedback (limbs going numb, falling to the floor, staggering, being pushed back). I especially like that you can't easily tell if an enemy is dead - adds to the tension and makes you pay more attention (animation gives it away).
There are some kind of annoying bugs during Raid Mode with events not quite "registering". Was doing the bonus stage with someone the other day and used an old key on the door in the casino. Took the key but the lock stayed D: We had to go all the way through the fucking lab just to get to the end.
Also just had a game where I used a valve to turn off some steam. The steam vanished but I could still hear it and it wouldn't let me through -.- Couldn't turn the valve again so just had to quit.
Oh and gyro aiming is amazing. That plus CPP is the best way to play I think. I find aiming pretty stiff using the right circle pad.

those fucking underwater grasshoper fish things scare the shit outta me they are hard to kill and really hard to avoid, I am on the steam room that is flooded having to turn off pipes
any tips on how to deal with the enemy in question
oh and
loved it when you find Rachel and have the confrontation with her in various locations, I would fend her off, go about my search of the ship and Parker would burst in the door at random I fired off a few shots at him, was realyl fun and intense, made me jump, guessing as you cannot scan her body when she gives you the key, that she may return?...her mutated form reminds me of the witch in L4D1/2, maybe just me though??
also one thing that stumped me, I was told to go to the first floor to get something, in game, but first really meant ground....
(maybe just a UK thing as the Ground flood is Ground, the floor above is first, etc etc random nitpick but sod it lol )
I just want to get more raid modes unlocked will add everyone and swapnote them etc.
over the weekend will give this a go. last early shift start today then off for the weekend, will hopefully see you guys online.. I am level 6 ATM....
I think I prefer Raid to Mercs, would love a Sequel for 3DS that was nothing but raid mode with levels cherry picking resi games, would love to have to take down a few EL-Gigantes in team mode. Make it happen...Capcom I will buy it!!
The game looks awesome, please more console games on handhelds!!!
My only complains so far are that 3D is just not suited for a portable, at least this glasses-free 3D. I mean, i really like the 3D in the game but it is really difficult not to move the screen : then the image blurs and you lose the effect , it happens too often and is quite annoying. It also happens in MK7 for example, but in this game the blurring is more exagerated. The other one is the circle pad thing. Man it is huge and thick, and makes the 3DS really like a gamegear . I found Vita to be huge, but at least is kinda thin. Circle pad also makes gaming asymmetrical, which you get used to it but is weird. It is a pitty because i see myself using it in more 'console' games.
But despite this seems i am going to enjoy this game a lot.

Shit man I'm sorry!
I thought the boss fight was well known and others have mentioned the other sequences I mentioned without spoiler tagging them. As they were in the official trailer I thought they were fair game. To be fair it's an obvious 'spoiler' just like in the Super Mario 3D Land thread where nobody spoiler tags the fact that you unlock

There's feedback on the standard mutant monster thing but not with the other not so standard mutant monster things (
the ones with the bow-and-arrow type weapon and the ones with the sword and shield
) who don't offer the same type of feedback. You just keep pumping rounds into them with no indication as to how close to death they may be. Though it would have killed tension, I wish there was an option to add in the Raid Mode health bars into the main game.
Also there's a limited amount of different enemies and with the amount of area revisiting you do (tempted to say backtracking but I won't) I grew bored of the enemies very quickly.
I sincerely hope the episodic nature is a sign of how Resident Evil 6 will work. Mixing pure action segments with slow, deliberate survival horror is what I now want from Resident Evil.
Seriously,
the Parker section in Terragria against the hunters
made the boat section all the more effective. The first boss battle was actually quite nerve-wrecking.
The "mayday, maaaaaaaayday" got to me.
Unfortunately, I picked up the key afterwards, and it immediately saved the game. I wanted to fight the boss again, knowing the strategy.
I also tried the gyro controls, without the CCpro and they work surprisingly well. Now only one option left, gyro with CCpro. (So far I feel most comfortable with Type A, but gyro is a close second)
Oh yes, I think Parker's partner looks even better than Jessica. Don`t know her name yet.
Does anyone find the depths of the subtitles versus the action in the cutscenes a little messed up? Like sometimes the characters are sort of protruding through the subtitles, which are set quite far into the screen?

Haha, this actually saved me earlier, but unfortunately I didn't have one ready. Luckily, I was able to finish it without getting hit, then the game gives you three herbs in the next arena.
I *really* hope this games makes it to Wii U (the 6 in the vial gave me hope), I *really* don't want to dust off, buy an HDD for my years old 360 Arcade. Eugh.
As of today, it's 7 days since Zavvi dispatched my order, and I have... nothing! Can't say I wasn't expecting this what with the reputation, but it would've been nice to be surprised.
Although at times I despise EB Games to the end of the earth, it's good being in a small town because at a game release like Revelaitons and the CCP, you can just walk in and pick one up. :3

I am only just in the promenade section looking for
the communications guy
now... I died when I was playing it late last night and decided to give it a rest... but wow.
My favourite bits so far:
1 - entering the ship for the first time
the ship lightly listing to and fro, the brief glimpse of a guy through some shelving leading to some goo dripping from a vent... that got my first laugh actually ("That doesn't look like just water", "lovely")... then the atmospheric section after that, vents shaking as you walk down the unlit corridors with your bodysuit torch lighting things up in front of you... beautifully done!
2 - having to negotiate part of the ship
without weapons
3 - keys with emblems on them, hidden items - old school!
4 - Parker's flashback in Terragrigia -- so tense and awesome, lovely graphics
5 - the fight on the promenade
The music is incredible, the sound is amazing. Panning the camera around with the touch screen (without CCP) you can hear the faux-surround moving around you, the atmospheric sound effects and soundtrack are just awesome.
My only gripe is that on a couple of occasions where loading has occurred (such as in the elevators) there's been a small spot of juddering / freezing... I'd have rather they just paused the game output like Half Life 1 and outright said "loading" rather than having the performance noticably dip like that.
Do I have to do something special to access Raid mode?
Complete a certain amount of campaign episodes. I can't remember exactly how many, but it's not too far in. Half of the episodes at the most.
EDIT: It's complete episodes 1-3. If you check out the missions menu, you can see a list of requirements and what they unlock in the game. There's a bunch of weapons and addons you can unlock for things like dodging 20 times or defeating a set amount of enemies. They're just achievements/Trophies but with unlocks.

The health bars are cool in Raid Mode but I think it would've killed the atmosphere in campaign mode. Also the not so standard mutant monster things can be staggered and downed I seem to recall, although I never paid close attention to that.
Gamestops get their stock today, as well as other retail stores I bet. I'll be checking some stores today and see if anybody put it out early in the Boston area.

All of the normal monsters have a way to stagger them. A single shot even from a pistol will down a Hunter when he is jumping at you.
I also learned that enemies will react faster to shots in Raid mode than in the campaign. Especially the ooze seem to be more resillient in the campaign as oposed to Raid mode.
The first time around I evaded her and just ran back to the point where Parker met up with me. Then I remembered: she has the key. Fudge. So I went back and Parker wasn't a big help. I managed to scare her away about three times and she just keeps on eating bullets. I eventually died because I ran out of herbs
Any tips for beating this part?
Btw, Raide Mode is sweet. I'm lvl 12 right now. Need to play this online tonight.
