And by news next week, I guess Mr. Stephenson means a website update since he and Jeremy gave me the impression that any media and articles written on this upcoming event might not be released until a week or so after.

isnt it going to be awkward to tilt the whole controller sideways to pull up the map? i also dont want to see all the weapons, they have got to have some secret weapons under wrap..
 
wow those gifs make me want this badly
all that ragdoll physics and volumetric explosions/smoke and helicopters and chimera and humans running around and still looks smooth in framerate.....*salivates*:D
 
I would think maps is only used for the multiplayer BF2 style. Like BF2 you also have different bases(if aquired) you can spawn at in mp. I guess the map tilt control is somewhat made to replicate pulling a piece of paper out of your own pocket(without all the small fiddling).
That is, if it is true that is, Shane mentioned it at the latest 1up podcast but Insomniac hasn't.

edit: I have never noticed before that the Chimera dives out of harms way when the grenade goes of. Pretty cool.

i believe the mode in resistance is more resembling of onslaught in UT2k4....where your team captures more bases and causes your enemies main reactor to overheat and eventually shut down

Yah that's pretty cool, although it didn't do him much good as right when he stood up he got shot in the face with a shotgun. :P

But did you see the part where you kill him with a shotgun blast but it not only kills him but also blows the locker door off its hinges about ten feet behind him!!!!

When that happend, I was like:

Holy fricken crap I want this game. These .gifs are something else. I have started noticing all the same details in the game. Nov. 17 is too far away.

PS: The swarming bullet gun reminds me of that gun from the fifth element.
 
Ok, I always thought those bright bullets were you shooting(and with the bullet trail being off from the gun). I see now that it's the actual alien firing(and with the tag gun).

Yes, it does! One of the many features of that awesomely excessive display of an overkill of a gun!
 
Wow....this thread has come a long way. Anyways, this game is starting to shape up nicely...especially with all those weapons.

...and speaking of which, has it been said how many [weapons] you can carry at a time?
 
I think you can carry as many weapons as you want(well I know, Ted Price said so). It looks like the circular item menu seen in Zelda: TP but there is also apparantly a way to change without bringing that up(I guess it's just the matter of holding R2 to bring up menu and clicking it to change fast).
 
One thing I am liking more and more is that how all the guns even the Chimeran have a modern look to them. Like the technology was there to make the weapons and they exploited it or something like that making them somewhat superior to humans and not just some mindless monster race.
 
Geez, with the size of these .gifs the 720p E3 trailer could be downloaded :p

It is funny that I never noticed the subtleties of some of the animations until they were shrunk down to ridiculously small form.

I was thinking the same thing. Do people even watch videos or do they just go with the crowd?

Ofcourse, but with gifs they're usually parts of the videos that people might not notice without it being pointed out.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that this gen so much is going on that some things can be easily missed. But if there is a .gif of something like a wreck in MotorStorm where you can clearly see all the phyics of the parts flying in motion, or the Resistance video where you can see how spray of a shotgun has an affect on the locker in the distance.

or.. um a gun from another well known FPS

the needler from Halo was also homing :)
