And there's a sequel called Reloaded
clever title, I tells ya

Is that game a western release of Gussun Oyoyo?
To me Loaded was more Smash TV/Total Carnage than Mercs/Shock TroopersI love Loaded. Maybe it's not as deep or polished as Shock Troopers or whatever the gold standard for overhead shooters is, but running around as 90's comic book characters splattering people to the tunes of Pop Will Eat Itself (and the original soundtrack isn't bad either) is simple base pleasure.
Re-Loaded is an huge piece of shit.

Let's settle for Gauntlet likeIt isn't either to me because the level design is all over the place. Some of the levels are these huge open areas where you need to collect a bunch of hidden items, some are linear point A to point B killfest, and some are in-between. I guess it owes more to PC shooters than any arcade games
But all of the games mentioned are shooters in bird-eyes view where you control a dude and kill people, so *shrug*
Going through my collection, organising everything and seeing what I'm in the mood for playing, I came across this beauty.
BLOOD FACTORY! HELL YEAH! lol
I've debated this stick for a while, but I was under the impression it was pretty difficult to replace the buttons and stick, which makes me weary when buying hardware approaching 20 years old.If you're looking for a cheap option, I really like this one by Namco:
It's a surprisingly great stick. It's body is made of metal.
Buttons are pretty good too.
It feels pretty rugged but I'm using stock buttons and stick. Your mileage may vary.I've debated this stick for a while, but I was under the impression it was pretty difficult to replace the buttons and stick, which makes me weary when buying hardware approaching 20 years old.
I've got the Namco stick as well as the Virtual Fighter 3 button stick for the PS2, but the one I prefer by a mile is the Virtual Stick.
I have the Saturn one that came with a Sanwa JLW. Cool stick!
Another cool Playstation stick: Konami Hyper Stick. It has full Seimitsu arcade-spec parts!
I've been looking in to sticks for my PS2 for like a year and a half now and still haven't been able to make up my mind.
And I just spent 250$ on supplies for a new terrarium so I shouldn't be buying accessories right now.
I can't stand the stock buttons on the green gobbler.
Well, both games have you play as a person and are pretty mediocre, so despite their significant differences (in one you have a gun and shoot things, while in the other you have rotating rooms and don't have guns, but instead have bombs and stuff) I guess I can see it?I played a bunch of Loaded and Blast Chamber around the same time back in the day, and then never have again, so I can never recall which is which by memory. Which may sound crazy side-by-side but when separated by 20 years it always takes me a minute to remember "rotating rooms, yep, right, got it."
I love playing random games on the everdrive.
I put in batman forever on snes and what a weird game that is. Very repetitive and boring, but the mirtal kombat style combat is unique at least. And the charactera have a lot of frames of animation.
A Black Falcon said:Finally, here are the controls for this game. No, they are not customizable. I'm not sure what all the keys are because I do not have the manual, just a CD in jewelcase, and this game does not have any kind of readme or in-game help, so this is just what I managed to figure out by randomly pressing every key on the keyboard. Finding the grapple and drop-through-floor keys took a while!
left/right arrow keys or numpad 4/6 or joystick left/right - move left/right
arrow key up or numpad 8 or joystick up - jump
arrow key down or numpad 2 or joystick down - duck
arrow key 5 or a joystick button - block
End, 1, or 3 or a joystick button - punch (maybe different types?)
Page Down, 7, or 9 or 2 joystick buttons - kick (maybe different types?)
Insert - grappling hook
Insert+arrow Up/numpad 8 (hit at exactly same time for this to work) - grapple up to next platform above (if at right point)
Delete+arrow Down/numpad 2 (hit at exactly same time for this to work) - drop to next platform below (if at right point)
Esc - Quit to main menu. If there is a pause button, I can't find it - this ends your game, start again from the beginning!
Alt+Q - Quit game.
I can't stand the stock buttons on the green gobbler.

The game is rightly considered to be pretty bad, both in its overly complex controls and its poor gameplay... but be glad you're playing it on console and not PC. The PC version's controls are somewhat hilariously terrible! (See bottom of first post for where I start covering the game.)
Here's the key part, the controls...
Yes, really.
I love the way that looks. I need to pick one up one day.
They are super easy to mod as well btw.
The only thing you might have to do is make the holes for the buttons a little bit bigger with an iron file, depending on which ones you pick up.
I'd actually want to try and pick another one of these up to mod for a Saturn as I love these so much.
But I'm not the most handy guy so I'm not sure if it's a good idea to possibly break a Saturn Joypad or stick in the process...
Nice colour schemes, meppi! I like how the white one is so understated. Do you know if the start button can be swapped?
I'm about to attempt this mod, going for an all pink scheme sort of like the all pink astro city setup.
Anyone else subscribe to Retro Gamer (the UK mag) in the US? Last year all my issues came like clockwork 3 weeks after they started shipping in the UK. Since January it's been 6 - 8 weeks for an issue to arrive. Is anyone else experiencing the same or has it just been my luck?
But I came across the Toro and now I'm wondering if I read it correctly that RGB scart output on it can carry both the RBG signal as well as the VGA one?
Meaning I would be able to play both VGA incompatible games as well as RGB incompatible games through the same RGB scart lead?
So I could play every game through the single RGB lead then? That's fantastic! Just ordered one.xrgb mini takes both 15/31khz through scart, can vouch for it working well.

Exactly that, if you dont have a vga port on your tv then its a great all in one solution. Below is a good review to give you a clearer overview.

I thought about making a new thread about this, but I think I know what'll happen if I do... all out Sony Vs Nintendo world war. lol
Anyway, I played BotW and Horizon ZD back to back. I have to say the inevitable comparisons for me have been interesting. I think, (personally, in my opinion, from my point of view, my take... etc.) that Horizon is the better game. I think enemy encounters are more fun in Horizon, and that makes all the difference. Also, there are non aggressive optional tutorials that help you understand how to apply weapons to enemies. Where Zelda tries to force you to use different weapons with the durability method, Horizon has enemies that are literally built for you to use a broader range of weaponry. Plus, the greater variety of enemy designs certainly adds another dimension to the "open world feel" to HZD.
They both have rather lackluster NPCs, but the fully voiced ones in HZD make them feel a bit more substantial.
This isn't to say BotW didn't do some things better in my mind. The music, horse stables, and clothing customization are some examples of things lacking in HZD. Overall though, I just feel more at home with Sony'/GG's open world action adventure.

Oh thank you for that!
Saw a couple of articles and videos for it but certain things remained unclear as I'm not the most technical person.
Been trying to revive a broken Saturn I was given many years ago.
Just received the replacement laser and put it in, but I'm pretty sure the previous owner had opened it up and messed with it quite a bit.
I got the drive to spin and the motor to scan the discs, but so far it doesn't read them.
I don't even get any messages saying that the drive is empty or that the disc is not suitable for the system or anything like that.
Will have to go through every possible setting on those 4 white screws on the side of the drive compartment.
It sounds off when it spins up, although it sounded much worse before.
The thing must be misaligned as hell. Going to be a tough one this one... It being an old Japanese model 1 with the power supply strapped to the lid doesn't make it any easier either.
But still, I don't want to throw out a Saturn that otherwise seems to work fine.
If all else fails, I'll just keep it till an overdrive like mod appears. My copy of Batsugun already has a pinhole in it so I'm starting to get a bit worried.

The Toro is great, just be careful with the cable connecting the Dreamcast to the unit itself. I've had to have mine replaced from nothing more than typical operation.
Same here. Bad build quality in my humble opinion. The customer service is okay so it's not the worst thing in the world. But still, they live in Turkey (I think?) so returning items is a bit of a pain.
Truth be told, I never play emulators (unless official ones with rereleases and such) or copied games so on the one side I'm not too keen on it.
Yet on the other side, seeing disc rot in action before my eyes, it's absolutely necessary at this point.
Emulation of the cd drive function being plugged into real hardware is a world away from emulation of the hardware to be played on a pc though.
My CDX started outputting a noisier signal than normal lately. Pretty sure it isn't the cable, is there anything specific to look for or anything useful to try?
So I impulse bought a NTSC-J SCPH-90006 ps2 on the cheap. It's a slim version with the power supply inside. The back calls for 220-240v @ 50Hz. I'm in the US so I've got 120v @ 60Hz. I'm thinking I need a transformer. I've searched around and some places say it's a 110-240v psu but I don't wan to risk it. Anyone running this model on 120v?
