Still not sure what to think about the Saruman scene. Voice of Saruman is one of my favorite chapters in the book, but it seems odd what they've done with it in the movie. (Fireball?) Hmm, will have to wait and see. Still looking forward to it.

Witch King scene looks to be hot sex.

Viggo's scene at the beginning of the trailer also looks great. Glad to see that Aragorn gets super pissed! (This scene will also allow the climax of the movie to make more sense and flow better as well. The way it is in the theatrical, Sauron sending his troops out to the black gate seems rushed and silly. (In the theatrical he just magically knows the men of the west are going to the black gate before they even get there))

Mouth of Sauron... oh man, this was another of my favorite chapters. Suprised by his voice, I expected it to be more high-pitched. I REALLY REALLY hope he has tons of dialogue. If he only says three of four lines before
getting killed
I'm going to be really disappointed.

Yeah but the quality wasn't so great and the video was full of screaming-banshee fangirls. O_O

You're right though, most of this has still been seen before. But still... I'm excited :D

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the footage that leaked onto the internet for us crazy fans. :)

The dialogue has generally been fantastic throughout the trilogy, so more amazing dialogue like that mentioned above hardly comes as a surprise.

Man....December right? ........can't....wait....

Also, I have to say after hearing the music of Gondor in that trailer...... the LotR soundtrack will probably be one of the most memorable soundtracks in movie history, up there with Star Wars.

I love that Gondor theme.

No one really knows if he died or not. If he didn't die in that "earthquake" then he was spared because only orcs were killed without mercy.

Aragorn kills him in the movie. That's why there's blood on his sword before the big fight even starts

So are they going to pack all 3 specials in some sort of super pack? I've held off buying them ever since the I heard that each version is getting a extended pack.

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.

While I'm not as big of a fan of these movies as my wife is, I can appreciate Peter Jackson and New Line's willingness to provide such a quality extended cut. Those extra scenes look fantastic.

Draggy? It was supposed to be like 16 endings.. PJ cut it way short. I'm glad he did though.

I never liked the trilogy that much, but I agree. Looks like Jackson dropped the ball with the threatrical release, leaving out Christopher Lee ect while including so much superflous filler bollocks. Did we really need more erotic agonising over 'Mr Frrrrrrdo' from Sam?

Well it is a Middle Earth thread. Frodo and Sam just didn't seem to go anywhere in ROTK - every time it cut back to them I just sighed, even tho they are the pivitol part of the story, because it's just the same thing again and again. Frodo growing more corrupted, Sam saying... "sigh..but Mr Frodo!".

Well, from your first post I thought you were going to go with the "LOLz frodo and sam are gh3y for eachother" argument, rather than just the fact that it bored you. The former argument always seemed so immature to me, and I have a hard time taking the opinion of anyone who brings it up seriously. :p

I thought the dynamic between Frodo, Sam, and Gollum was done amazingly well. I take particular offense to people who just laugh at this part of the movies, because Sam's undying loyalty and (platonic) love for his friend is practically the major theme of the entire story. And it's heartbreaking the direction things go in. Finding it repetitive is a complaint that I don't agree with but I can understand at least. However I still argue that there is a lot going on in these scenes and they are all important.

I just find it odd to say that PJ dropped the ball by having the Frodo and Sam scenes over some of the things we'll be seeing in the Extended Edition. Drama and character-development are superflous filler bollocks? The movie was already 3 hours and 20 minutes and I would not have removed a single scene. Although I'll agree that aspects of the theatrical feel incomplete especially when compared to the book, but that's a different argument from what you're focusing on.

Might have something to do with the casting, Eliah just seems so wet. I just felt they lingered on the same aspect far too much over Book 2 & 3 - of a dangerous situation and Frodo 'losing it' to the ring to dispair of Sam. It's kind of the opposite of Matrix Revolutions, where Smith doesn't get another screen time to set the situation...in ROTK they seem to get too much.

Apparently he had a Hobbit Rave scene planned but that was cancelled.

I wish he filmed the entire Appendix. Show everything into the future including Legolas and a grumpy old Dwarf building their little ship, and Sam handing over the Red Book to the Fairbairns and leaving at the Grey Havens.
