Returning my Etymotic ER6i's, Shure E3s arrived today.

I ordered the Etymotic ER6i's and had them delivered to me last Tuesday. I gave them a shot for a little while but after some time I decided that the ER6i's are just too uncomfortable, and take too much time to put into your ears. They also feel very flimsy. Etymotic has absolutely fantastic customer service and I'll recommend their products to people whenever they ask about headphones, just because they're not for me doesn't mean that other people can't enjoy them. Very accurate sound and tight isolation. Anyways, I'll probably be returning them as soon as the replacement filters arrive in the mail so I can send it back to buy.com we'll see.

The Shure's arrived in the mail today, and they're absolutely fantastic. I haven't listened to much with them yet because I have a 102 fever -_- and after having them in my ears for 5 minutes I got really dizzy and overheated... but they're so much more comfortable than the ER6i's in my opinion. Even with the normal non-soft flex sleeves they're really comfortable and they don't jam right down into your ear to violate your eardrum.

Headphones seem to be a pretty hot topic as of late, so I just thought I'd share this with those of you who might be looking into getting a new set of headphones.

I RECOMMENDED SHURES THE FIRST TIME YOU FIEND.

Just kidding, Shure's have a very different "sound" when compared to Etymotic earphones, but the E3Cs are awesome.

Throbbing.

I need to try with all the different eartips, and not put them in my ears when I have a high fever.

From what everyone says, much more bassy, amazing sound, but not as detailed as the ER6i's.

The ER6i's sounds flat but is extremely detailed. The Shure's sound is warmer, less detailed... but much less mathmatical sounding.

I'm thinking about keeping the ER6i's when I want to learn a specific part of a song on guitar and would like as much detail as possible.

I don't know anything about the Shures, the the ER-6i's are gold if you're listening to jazz or acoustic music. For more dancy music...well, it's not bad, but obviously isn't its strongpoint.

The Shures are just as comfortable as the shitty sounding but awsomely comfortable Sony EX71's.

I love how everyone realises just how shitty EX71s are after moving on.

There was an appreciation thread for EX71s a few months back on here, I cried a little inside.

Shures in the house? Holla.

I've had a pair of E2Cs for about a year now. Gonna upgrade soon to the brand spankin new E4Cs in about a month or two.
