It did not bother me at all how sex-positive this episode was. It was over the top, which is in line with the series.

The whole plot with the portal and time skipping was typical R&M fare. I quite enjoyed it.

This show never really dropped off for me. It's not as fresh as it was in the first two seasons, but it's still thoroughly sharp and entertaining. I like that they're playing around with side characters (Jessica).

loved it. the Huvvy (?) bloodline gets so fucked up yet got so crazy at the end with the AI style robots. probably will do a rewatch of the previous seasons over the weekend too since it's been a while.
 
I enjoyed the episode. It was just another nice Rick and Morty episode. The animations are definitely the most improved aspect of the show.

Though it seems like there is something missing and I am not sure what it is.
 
That was actually my favourite Rick and Morty episode in awhile. Wasn't a fan of season 4 as a whole

Simple sci fi concept executed well with a memorable side character in the mix. Seems like the classic formula for some of the best episodes

Yeah. Season 4 was getting too meta for its own good.

And I like episodes that advance canon, so there's also that.
 
Decent episode, and better on a second watch... but...

I can't escape the feeling that its got a touch of what I'd call "The Dr Who syndrome." Basically they've become enslaved by the need to have some sort of new and epic high concept every episode. While this is a sorta noble aim, the need to continually replicate and top what they've done in the past is really starting to get in the way.

Its alright to have simple scenarios and storylines so long as its still funny. Work with the characters more so the high concept will pay-off bigger, just being clever isn't the point.

I'd say that applied to season 4 a lot

This was a simple scenario executed well. Rick does My Dinner With Andre, Morty does Narnia
 
The first episode of season 5 was one of the weakest of the series, but I still enjoy seeing Morty get cockblocked.
 
I really enjoyed the second episode.
The premise was great and all of the pop culture references were funny.
The after credits scene was one of the best in the show.

Really liked Episode 1.
The sea king thing was whatever but I found the whole concept with the different time flow and quest for revenge really fun.

Episode 2 was great too, you never knew what to expect.

S5 up to a strong start.

Agreed. As far as romance/consequences/absurdity/pathos plots go, it wasn't very deep. They've done it a lot better in the past, like the hive mind episode, or the time crystal episode, or the love potion episode.

Agreed that the b-plot was lacking and also took too much time from Morty's plot, which needed a lot more development. Starting the episode where Morty has already met Planetina and everyone accepts that she's a normal thing that exists on Earth for the past 40 years was a little jarring. Planetina's heel turn was as nearly underdeveloped and out of left field as in Game of Thrones. I can understand the logic of Planetina's actions, but it felt more plot driven than character driven. I'm not even sure if I'm supposed to understand that this is a natural consequence of killing her kids, and that although they were fuckers they were actually keeping Planetina from going off the rails.

Speaking of which, what the fuck happened to the rings? Wouldn't Morty be technically controlling Planetina since he has all the rings? I feel there's a missed opportunity for some Sauron "unite the rings under one ruler" or Mandarin type shit, but they did nothing with the rings.
 
I'm guessing Rick & Morty does very well from Funko Pops. So it was nice to see them still make fun of Funko Pops.
 
Even though they really don't touch on time travel at all Rick and Morty has successfully satisfied my thirst for a new sequel to Back to the Future

I highly recommend this show for anyone whose waited decades for BTTF4

Rick is Doc Brown and Morty is Marty, 100 percent

and thats a good thing
 
Yeah episode 3 was pretty boring.
Neither of the 2 plotlines were very fun and they both lacked the originality and creativity of the past 2 episodes.

As far as Morty relationship episodes go, the one with the reset button last season was way better.
 
Episode 3. Bizarre. Pacing was all off and barely a single decent joke in the entire thing. As much as I love Rick, Korvo and the gang on Solar Opposites are way funnier.
 
Episode 1 was good.
Episode 2 was crap.
Episode 3 was decent.

Is it me or is it starting to get a little repetitive?

I mean, still better than most things out there anyway.
