Ridley talks about the Alien prequel. Lions and tigers and Space Jockeys, oh my!

It's not thaaaat unfeasable really, assuming we'd be able to traverse 39 light years in 40 years (so rather close to the speed of light) then we'd have invent the technology capable of this by 2082 or something - or the technology to go half the speed of light by 2042.

Maybe a big technology jump afterall.

Xenu will teach us.

I pretty much hate all of Scott's movies except Alien and Blade Runner

How can you not like Black Hawk Down?

I love the Alien series (I even liked Alien 3 and Resurrection[b/], not the AvP shit though). I really want another great Alien film, but I'm not sure if this is gonna be it. I just don't like the sound of it and i have zero faith in Scott as a director these days.

:lol I should've kept reading. Had I done so, I'd have never responded.

Meh... the one thing this franchise does not need is explanations for the origins of the xenomorphs. Hollywood just doesn't get it, they just can't stop explaining mysteries.

Yeah, this is the one thing thats kinda pissing me off

I don't care, as long as Ripley makes a return wearing those small panties that show off her flat, inverted ass.

If Scott plays his cards right though, he can answer some and leave more...

Time being relative puts a bit of a twist on all that though.. hundreds or thousands of years would pass on earth while you were on your lightspeed trip. Not to mention it's kind of impossible to survive that kind of journey.. all kinds of particles would just pass right through the spaceship into your body, killing you.

Wormholes or bust basically when it comes to long-distance space travel.

I'm sorry, but I just don't get how people can get excited for this. Scott hasn't made an entertaining movie in almost a decade, and that's including the KoH Director's Cut. He's lost his touch, and it's going to take a lot for this movie to win me over.

I didn't know he was 72 years old. Good God he's old. He better not croak before he makes this one.

More like better not croak before Forever War and Brave New World. I'm excited for an Alien prequel because it's Scott, but I'd much rather see him work on other things first.
