The whole area where this happened is controlled by the Hezbollah. Still can't find confirmation that Termos himself was a member of that organization.

If someone died in similar conditions in Nazi Germany, there would have been Nazi flags at their funeral but that would say nothing of their personal affiliation.

Every single reputable article I can find refers to him as a member. Not sure why they'd just throw that in, but who knows how cloudy this whole situation is. LIke what is a "member of Hezbollah" really?

I believe you. For some reason none of the French-language articles refer to him as such however. Maybe they're just sugar-coating it.

Hmm yes, but they don't state where this information comes from? I'm thinking they are assuming it because of the cloth/flag on his coffin.

OP should mention the man was a member of Hezbollah, a terrorist organisation responsible for kidnapping, murder of hostages and truck bombings of American and French citizens.

He sacrificed himself to save hundreds of innocent lives, while you're cowardly spending your day on the internet trying to defame him. Being part of Hezbollah doesn't make him a murderer nor a terrorist. "American and French citizens" aka marines in a conflict.
You're a pretty pathetic.

Hezbollah is a political party with a lot of support and membership among the civilians of Lebanon. Especially Southern Lebanon.

To everybody mentioning his membership in Hezbollah, remember that Oskar Schindler was a registered member of the Nazi Party, just saying.

For all we known Hezbollah may be claiming him as their own for political purposes. It's just seems strange that the highlight of who he is in that yahoo link was his political organization. But maybe that is a defining characteristic in that part of the world.

Before you guys quote kenshin more, just know that he's a hardcore phalangist and hates the Hezbullah with a passion, probably even more than Nintendo if that was possible.

The Hezbullah isn't a terrorist organization. Its labbel was earned because they inflicted heavy losses to the israeli occupation forces in southern lebanon and whoever's deemed a terrorist by Israel is a terrorist for the rest of the world, be it eraned (like say, Hamas or the palestinian Islamic Jihad) or not (like the Fatah or the Hezbullah).

In some of these places in order to get work as a teacher or nurse don't you have to "join" Hezbollah if you're going to be in their institutions? They do provide a lot of social infrastructure for their region, out of necessity, mostly.

Great man. We should honour him for his deed of selflessness, no matter if he was hezbollah. It doesn't change that he threw himself into death to save people. To save lives.

How do you know he's a phalangist? Curious as to what he's said in the past.
