If we're going to call drivers "athletes" (and I do), then Gordon should start to act like one and shed the pounds himself.

I don't know, I'm by no means a NASCAR fan, but this whole issue just comes off as ridiculous to me. Should we saw down the legs of unusually tall basketball players to level the playing field? They have a height advantage, but that doesn't stop shorter players from becoming more skillful with hard practice and training.

I said it in the previous thread and I'll say it again. Gordon should slim down and hope the day that jockey types take over is a few years away.

If the man's taking part in a sport that his body isn't suited for (You're slowing the car down fatty, stop scarfing down the cheeseburgers) then he should shut up or get out.

I think when you consider the tradeoff of a woman's weight with her lesser physical strength, endurance, etc. for handling a car and the G forces for 3-4 hours, it evens out in the end anyway

Gordon is right.

He is partially right, the way NASCAR does it might be a good way, but doesn't mean that all racing leagues should do it. But the way he brought it up was just really not smart. Not as dumb as the Bob Ryan comment about Jason Kidd's wife, but not smart at all.
